lol it was an awful show.

This movie looks horrendous. I was keeping an open mind. I was even optimistic it could be good. This is worse than shutting off the power grid to the containment unit.

Maybe they should change the name to Ghostbastards.

It doesn't look terrible, it just looks like every mediocre comedy of the last ten years. If this wasn't Ghostbusters people would have already forgotten it, but I suppose that's precisely the problem fans are having with it.

Her: "Really? is it with the original cast?"
Me: "No - this time, it is with dames in it!"

There's no accounting for taste, your taste might just be different from the rest of the internet. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but I think a large part of the problem is that it's being targeted at a different audience. If you've only seen the previous movies 3 times, that would tend to suggest that you weren't the core audience.

But, there's also the issue here of the racism involved with that black character. Winston was a real person. I've met plenty of black men who were similar to him. Whoever that black woman is in the new one is a caricature of a black woman. I can't recall ever having met any black women that were that obnoxious.
Only because people would get reflexively upset by calling them Ghostcunts.

You know, while I didn't like the trailer that much as I though it was over all poorly made and the bad pacing killed all the possibilities for the jokes to work, not to mention that one little bit that just kills the trailer on its tracks, I do think the current discussion about the trailer has escalated a bit too far.

I've read some conversations from different forums and it looks like a lot of it is just fueled by 4Chan type lulz-peons who just like to pour more gasoline in to the fire. In all honesty this new GB doesn't look that much worse than GB2 is, so in all likelyhood the new movie will be just an another mediocre movie like GB2 is.
