darthspudius: Sony are deleting every negative comment about it on Youtube apparently. Having some fun with that.
That's the #1 way not to piss off youtube, and along with it start a shitstorm on Reddit :P

edit: Too bad they can't remove all the downvotes :P

Removing the trailer might be the way to go.

I'll be really surprised if this isn't a total box office disaster. Not only does it look bad, but everything about this movie generated nothing but negative response, massive negative response, from day one. And now they only confirmed it all. It's like this years Fantastick Four. All we're lacking is stories about trouble on set and hasty rewrites and reshoots.

markrichardb: I generally avoid reboots based on 1980s IPs. Total Recall, The Thing, Nightmare on Elm Street, Robocop, etc. The worst thing about them is they're not even entertaining on a bad level, they're just as bland and forgettable as unbuttered toast.
The RoboCop remake, indulge me as I waltz into unpopular opinion territory for but a brief moment, was entertaining but failed to capitalize on modernizing the satirical elements from the original. It had what was essentially a big sandbox available to at least try to bring up some issues relevant to the time it was released and instead it was all squandered horribly.

You want to hear an unpopular opinion? I liked the RoboCop remake more than the original. It was a well made action film witch good cast. The satire in the original is so heavy handed I was sick of it 15 minutes in, and it never stops, just repeats the same joke over and over.
What happens when there's no longer any old franchises left to reboot? Does Hollywood implode?
This may have been mentioned but as a beacon of light let me point out that the Mad Max reboot has been fucking great.

So far. :P

They’re generally fine, just not memorable. Name some characters other than the protagonist and quote some lines. I'm drawing a blank. I wouldn't even call myself a big fan of the original, but could quote it all day because the cast were just that good. Kurtwood Smith looks like he’s having a blast.

It looks bland, genreic, unimaginative and not very funny. And this has nothing to do with all female group. The trailer just is a train wreck.

And what's with licking the guns? Is that supposed to be cool or what?
So, Ghostbusters franchise is officially dead.
RIP Ghostbusters.

Maybe because the original writer and director was directly involved, as opposed to just being credited as "based on the movie written by" ...

But in this case I never cared for Ghostbusters at all. Never grew up with it other than the overplayed Theme Song. To this day I have not watched the whole first movie in its entirty.

Breja: Looks bad. Looks generic, bland, and and worst of all- the cast seems about as funny as a styrofoam cup.

The worst thing is- it could have worked. If Evil Dead could have made a triumphant return, then so could Ghostbusters. But this ain't it.
So glad I grew up with this Ghostbuster:

indeed. New Mad Max was in the works for years and it was something of a passion project for Miller. It was a movie he wanted to make despite all the difficulties that came on his way.

It was dead couple of decades already but yes that trailer didn't impress much.

All the contrary of me ! My first toys were the Ghostbusters toys from the movie. It's sad to see this good franchise to be reduced to a SNL show for retarded.
