yep the whole chip shortage/mining madness has led us this far. i just love the results of the union of capitalist theory and the limits of reality.

a seller on japanese amazon did sell mystery boxes containing a graphics card for 100 - 125 $. supposedly one had a

2% chance that the box had a geforce 30 or rx6000 card in it,

4% for a geforce 20 or rx5000,

8% for a geforce 10 or rx500,

16% for a geforce 9 or rx300,

70% for other series.

o yes it will

bitcoin is finite if i recall they can only mine like 2M more coins or so.
the whole economy of Graphics cards will collapse then

other Ethereum are scams and i think i hear Save coins being banned in most country's.

Many call the current state of the world "Clown World" something I find myself agreeing with.

what do you mean? that if bitcoin collapses, then etherium and other crypto will collapse too?

First, no one uses GPU's to mine Bitcoin for a long time now, it is all done on dedicated ASIC chips. Second, there is over 60% of Bitcoins already mined but as difficulty getting higher while pool getting smaller it is estimated to take over 100 years from now till the rest will be extracted.

That gives enough time for a solar storm to happen and who knows, it possibly will be the end of this virtual nonsense game.

thats odd. why do we have a gpu shortage if miners use asics to mine?

Because there are hundreds cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin that can be still efficiently mined on commercial GPU.
I am sure that I would get an Nvidia GT 210 if I tried my luck at this.

Like stared above, Bitcoin, the higher profile crypto isn't mined on larger scale with GPU's for years (5+), it's usually with dedicated machines. Even Intel is currently making chips for Bitcoin mining.
There are cryptos that can be profitably mined with GPU's like Ethereum and Monero. There are even some that can be mined with HDD/SSD storage... Every big corpo need they own crypto nowadays, there are probably thousands.
I bet there is some crypto that can be mined with sticker album packs.

As annoying as GPU mining may be for us, the speculation market... Better not open that can of worms (snakes?) here.

With many Country's support, including USA, I doubt it will happen any time soon. Even if the bubble will burst, it will probably inflate again.

At some point the super-rich AAA gaming company leading people will realize that the sales of the newest most demanding AAA hits performs even far below the unofficial realistic expectations. And that not because of bugs or refusal because moral reasons but simply because the majority of people don't have the hardware anymore and can't/won't afford a GPU with a 250%+ markup price. Some people probably have already struggled with normal 250-350 € for entry enthusiast cards like X060 / X060 TI range every 2nd generation. Now they are just just "f*ck that; I'll run my old card till it dies and hope for the best". This threatens rich old people money and they tend to be pretty militant about finding solutions to that. What solutions? What do I know; I'm not rich old people.
