Progress update on Escape Goat 2
Assigned by PaterAlf

Today, as I rescued the last sheep, I finished the last regular level and saw the credits again :-)
With the help of the internet, I even unlocked almost all the secret rooms and even solved some of them, though they are really hard, comparable to the insane levels of the first Escape Goat.

Overall, it was a really great game, which I thoroughly enjoyed and strongly recommend to anyone with the slightest interest in the genre. Even though it took me almost 20 hours and more than 1700 deaths to complete ;-)

For my next game, as I am still in the mood for something quicker, two other games are for choice:

Hotline Miami 2 - Wrong Number
or
Odallus - The Dark Call

Cheers!

You're wellcome!

As on my own playingtrough of Heroes of Might and Magic III, I'm almost finished with the Restoratin of Erathia campaign. I would have goten much farther in the game but I bought Dark Souls II in the winter sale...

To be honest, I am surprised that you have that much stamina. Heroes 3 has so many campaigns... personally, I never played them that much, mostly hot seat multiplayer with my friends, it was for me ;-)
I heard much about the Dark Souls games and that they seem to be notoriously diificult. What is your impression?
First, this is a really cool idea! Second... why have a rule about being able to refuse a request? If person has a game they refuse to play they wouldn't/shouldn't put it on the list in the first place I'd think.

Anyway, if someone wants to pick my poison/ambrosia I'd be much obliged. Oh, and a note, I'll be listing multiple titles from the same franchise as I prefer playing a series in order. Example being Might & Magic series. I have yet to finish six through ten but I don't want to jump ahead and play eight or whatever before playing six.

-Elder Scrolls: Online, Arena, Daggerfall, Battlespire, Morrowind, Oblvion & Skyrim.
-Expeditions: Conquistador.
-Shattered Steel.
-MDK 2.
-Evolva.
-Dragon Wars.
-Stonekeep.
-M.A.X. 1 & 2.
-Star Trek: Starfleet Command.
-Subwar 2050.
-Giants: Citizen Kabuto.
-Invictus: In the Shadow of Olympus.
-Messiah.
-Jagged Alliance 2: Unfinished Business.
-Freespace 1 & 2.
-Albion.
-Might & Magic 6 through 10.
-Nox.
-The Witcher 2.
-Thief 2, 3 & New Thief reboot.
-XCOM Classics, minus Enforcer which I've already beat.

For me the Dark Souls games are one of the best games that I ever played. I like it so much because it's not like any other game that serves you the story on a plate, you have to find out the story trough dialogue, item descriprions, the environment and even the enemy placements. As for the difficulty at first its difficult until you learn the mechanics, of course you will die alot (it's a very important mechanic of the game after all) but that's how you learn from your mistakes(like in real life...except the dying part). And even if you still have problems with the difficulty you can play as a magic user and summon NPC or other players to help you with bosses.

Wellcome to the club GreasyDogMeat! I will let another member choose your game because I allready picked one for Nymes.

And about the refuse rule, if you play a game and find out that you dont like the game as much as you tought you would, why waste your time on it if you don't enjoy it?

That makes perfect sense. I somehow misread that as someone denying the game before even trying it hence me saying why 'would you even put it on the list?'.

BTW... my prior ultra-nerdy method of deciding what to tackle next on my backlog was to list the games alphabetically, assign them each a number and then use a random number generator and play whatever game I assigned to the number.

Sounds like I'll be tackling one of the most interesting first! Thanks!

I see that this can be quite appealing ;) Hopefully, they will appear here on GOG at some point in the future.

Hello GreasyDogMeat and welcome to the Gentleman's Backlog Club!
Have much fun with Giants, there is a lot of praise for this game around here ;)
Finished Giants: Citizen Kabuto. Awesome game! Has to be one of the funniest games I've ever played and I love that Shiny style (or in Planet Moon Studios ex-Shiny style). Love how the game switches itself up with each new character you play. The MECCs felt like an open world FPS. Delphi felt more like a RTS with a few racing sections. I do think the racing went on a bit too long... should have had 2 fewer laps per race. The final Kabuto section was an aweseome cathartic wreck everything section. The belly flop adrenaline power move never got old! The Kabuto babies felt pretty useless though even after I finally figured out how to control them.

Took me 11 hours & 49 minutes to complete.

On to the next backlog! Note that I've simplified the list a bit, only mentioning the next game in a franchise I'll be playing. For example, instead of listing every Elder Scrolls game I have yet to play I'm just listing the next one I'll play should it be picked by you gentlemen.

-Elder Scrolls: Arena.
-Expeditions: Conquistador.
-Shattered Steel.
-MDK 2.
-Evolva.
-Dragon Wars.
-Stonekeep.
-M.A.X.
-Star Trek: Starfleet Command.
-Subwar 2050.
-Invictus: In the Shadow of Olympus.
-Messiah.
-Jagged Alliance 2: Unfinished Business.
-Freespace
-Albion.
-Might & Magic 6.
-Nox.
-The Witcher 2.
-Thief 2.
-XCOM: Terror From the Deep.

Congratulations on finishing Giants: Citizen Kabuto!

Some nice games in your list, but I think you should play Terror from the Deep next. It's a real classic and one of my favourite games in the genre.

I've fought the aliens on land in the original, time for the ocean floor. Thanks for the pick!

I was just about picking the very same game but since I picked Giants I decided to pass and let someone else. Great minds think alike ;)
