Progress update on Hard West:

I've completed three scenarios and I absolutely love this game. Even if there is no straight campaign and the scenarios are just losely connected, it feels like a consistent world and all the characters so far (at least the playable ones) are quite interesting and ambivalent.

The atmosphere gets darker and darker with every scenario. I wouldn't have thought that I could play a cannibalistic mass murderer and still feel for him (because in the end he's still the good guy or at least not as bad as the others).

Turn based battles are great and I like that you can't save during the combat (otherwise it would be too easy).

Looking forward to play the rest of the scenarios.

Progress update on Hard West:

I've completed the game and I really loved it. Still think that some weapons and cards were overpowered while others were quite useless, but overall it was a great game. I even liked the fact that you don't stay with a single character for the whole campaign, but experience the world and the story through the eyes of various ones.

I'm tempted to play the game again on hard or with iron man mode on, but I guess I will play something else first.

Don't need a new game though, because someone gifted me Gun during the last sale and so I will stay in the Wild West and play that one next. Will also try to get into Expeditions: Conquistador again. Can't even say why exactly I've stopped playing, but it probably had something to do with the pathfinding in the jungle and the ressource management that I didn't like very much.

Progress update on Baldur's Gate - The Original Saga

I made some considerable progress. I cleared the Nashkel Mines, slew Mulahey and entered Chapter 3. My party even managed the assassins at the exit of the mines, so that I have now progressed further than ever before ;)
After that, I revisited Nashkel and Beregost and now know the location of the Bandit Camp, which will be my next big goal.
But before venturing forth, I decided to explore the Sword Coast a little bit. I found a crazy mage with basilisks, which were quite difficult due to their petrification skills. I also visited the ruins of the Ulcaster School.
My party is around level 5/6 and has, in my opinion, pretty decent equipment. I will explore the different areas a little bit further before continuing to the bandit encampment.

So far, I'm having more and more fun with the game. In my previous attempts, it felt like a drag, I did not know how to proceed and fights felt unfair. But now it seems that I have overcome this point and can truly enjoy the experience.
Only minor inconveniences hamper this, mainly the gruesome pathfinding of my companions and some game mechanics, like the inability to wear two magical protection items at once and my lack of understanding of the magic system ;)

Progress update on Expeditions: Conquistador:

I finally returned to this game. Found out how extremely useful barricades are when you have to survive a number of turns (even more useful in combination with oil lamps). I've defended Santa Domingo, finished all quest that were left and finally made it to the Mainland. Got two new members for my expedition (a scout and a trapper).

There are still a lot of interesting moral choices you have to make. I'm not exactly sure how they affect the game (some have an influence on the moral of your soldiers, but others seem to do nothing).

No quests at the moment. Guess I have to explore the new map to find some.


Progress update on Gun:

Similar to the Rockstar games (GTA, Bully, etc.), but shorter and more linear. I've completed 25% of the game by now and I still have some problems with the controls which are not very intuitive (neither with a controller nor using keyboard and mouse).
Story so far is good and difficulty isn't very high. I think the only mission so far that I had to play more often than twice was the horse race right in the beginning.

I had some free time this weekend and I managed to beat the game. I liked it , it had some good humor, some creepy moments and some smart puzzles.

I would say Expeditions: Conquistador, but it would be too depressing, if you complete it before me. ;)

So I say you should play Victor Vran next. I'm actually interested in that game myself and so I'm quite curious what you have to say about it.

You could play it together. :P

It's tempting, but I don't really have that much freetime at the moment. Would probably just slow you down.

Besides that my internet connection is not really stable (it often goes down to 110KB/s while it should be 2-3 MB/s) and I'm not sure that playing a Coop-game via internet is a good idea as long as I haven't solved this problem.

I've finally completed Expeditions: Conquistador:

It was a good game even if travelling back and forth to gather ressources and explore the land got a little repetitive in the end.

Turn-based battles were great. Wouldn't have needed such a large party though, because I fought most of the battles with the same six people (2 soldiers, 1 scout, 1 doctor, 1 hunter, 1 trapper) and won most of them without any losses (on medium difficulty).

Story was interesting too and I like that there were many moral choices to be made. In the end I wasn't completely content with my decisions. I fought the Aztecs and after victory betrayed my allies and murdered their leader too. That lead to the death of one of my favourite characters. And in the end the Spanish king still was not impressed with me even if I brought the whole region under his control.

If I would do another playthrough, I would probably change some of mydecisions and try to establish a trading relationsship instead.

Now I need a new game and I'm in the mood for a dungeon crawler:
