Nymes: Progress update on Shovel Knight: Plague of Shadows
Assigned by yoshino

I just managed to beat the game! It took me about 10 hours to do so.

But now I would like to have a new assignment, gentlemen! I am open for everything, please choose!

- Lands of Lore - The Throne of Chaos
Congratulations on beating Shovel Knight!

I think you should change the genre and play Lands of Lore - The Throne of Chaos next.

Yes - accepted! I knew you would pick that one ;-)
I am very much looking forward to playing my first "real" dungeon crawler. So far, my only experience in this genre is Paper Sorcerer which was decent.
Progress update on Colonization.
Assigned by Ghorpm.

My first playing on the game has just finished.
This game only has one victory condition, independence war against the master nation. That's a bit minus for me.Usually I play civ games with diplo or economic victory.
One of interesting game system is that people has skill. and they learned from natives or universities.
Trading goods is also interesting idea.
However because of both systems, I feel difficulty / learning curve is a bit high compared to other civ games. Perhaps I'm just too familiar with other civ games.

I bought few games on GOG sales recently. so my backlog is slightly expanded. :D
Please choice one. thanks!

Ah, very well then! Have fun with the game ;-)
Progress update on Return to Castle Wolfenstein:

I've completed the first two levels of mission 3 and for me those were the best ones so far. Reason is that they offer some gameplay variety. The first level of the mission is a stealth level were you are not allowed to trigger alarms. The second one had a timer and you have to reach the control room and destroy some missiles before they launch and destroy London.

Good fun and not really what I expected from this game.

Progress update on Age of Wonders:

I'm getting closer to the end of this wonderful game. The last missions weren't too exciting, but I lost a level-twelve hero when I fought the Undead. They were very agressive and attacked me from four directions and with very strong troops right from the beginning. So I wasn't able to hold most cities for more than a few turns and slowly ran out of money and mana. But I spotted the Undead king and thought that I could kill him to make things easier. There were still Orcs on the map and so I was sure that I could resurrect my hero after the fight. But unfortunately the mission was over once the Undeads were gone and so there was no chance for a return of my dead hero (I didn't want to reload).

I still have two level-twenty heroes though and that's probably enough for the last few missions.

PaterAlf: Progress update on Age of Wonders:
I usually lost my heroes due to the point system after each mission where you have to assign which units to take with you to the next map ;-) The Undead play quite aggressive and they have those Reaper-like units which transform the land they walk on... those were annoying as they also transform your farms and mines.
I also found that it is often a good strategy to focus on the enemy leader. At least that was how I played the later missions during which I almost never really bothered with the city and army micro managment aspect of the game.

I can also give a progress update on Lands of Lore: The Throne of Chaos

What a game! Definitely a perfect recommendation for beginners in the genre of dungeoncrawlers. Fully voiced, with nice graphics, sound and automapping! The UI however is just absolutely clumsy, especially the inventory, but the fighting and magic system is simple enough. There is no classical leveling system but an usage-based one comparable to the Elder Scrolls series or maybe Dungeon Siege.

I chose Michael, the fighter, for my quest to stop the evil witch Scotia who is threatening the lands of King Richard of Gladstone. I was initially sent to retrieve the Ruby of Truth, yet it was stolen by Scotia's Dark Army. Upon my return to the Keep, Scotia had already poisoned the king, who has been magically sealed to gain time in search of a cure.
Together with my new companion Baccata, who belongs to a species of four-armed rock-like humanoids, I traveled to the cave of the ancient Daracle in order to find an elixir for Richard. Of course, the cave was full of monsters and small puzzles, so it took some time to reach my goal. Yet all I got was the recipe for the elixir, so I am now on a quest to find the ingredients ;-)
In the meantime, Gladstone Keep has fallen. My other goal is now to find the four members of the King's Council, who all have keys to open the seals which protect the king. I will have to open them once I have the elixir.

All in all, this is quite a nice game and I am enjoying it very much! :-)

Cheers!

Progress update on STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl

While finishing many side missions, at first I thought this game was RPG, but soon realized the player character doesn't have any skills or exp. This game is pure FPS. Killing monsters is just waste of bullets(except mission targets).
Right now I have a AK-74 with scope, which made the gun to sniper rifle mode.
My hub base is the bar in the central area. I 'm fighting armies and bandits. but I don't attack other factions
After get used to the game system, this game is a lot of fun!
I like atmosphere in the game world(the zone).
Progress update on The Witcher 2: AoK .

I managed to beat the game and I liked it very much, but I felt it was kind of short compared to the first game( or it is just me). I completed almost all the sidequests and I liked the fact that the quests were diverse and not just "go kill that and bring me that"

I will definitely give it another playtrough some other time.

Can anyone assign my next game?

Awesome, congratulations! :-)

As for your next game, I would suggest System Shock 2. It's a game I only heard praise about and a title which I would very much like to play myself somewhere in the future ;-)

System Shock2 is a good FPS. I recommend too.

I finished STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl.
This game is one of the best FPS I have played. The game is good balance not too easy nor too hard.
The AI opponents were not just banzai attackers. They wisely hide and shot. I'm impressed.
Later stages in Chernobyl were difficult, but enjoyed. There dark atmosphere was unique.

Now my backlog is few remains.
I would like to have a new assignment. Please choice one. thanks!

For your next game, I suggest Tales of Maj'Eyal. It's recommended by Judas, after all - I actually don't know much about it ;-)
