Fantasysci5: *pokes head in the men's club*

I've got more than 200 games unplayed in my backlog, and lately I'm trying to buy less and play more. I think this thread is a great idea. I'm in the middle of three games right now, but once I'm done with them and in a lull, I'll pop back in here for some encouragement. :) I have heard and used backloggery before, but I prefer to just put shortcuts to all of my games in Steam (don't hurt me) and have different categories like "want to play" and "need to play". Anyway, you can do it all! <3
"need to play"? Interesting category name :)

Just curious but what kind of game would be considered a need to play?

The "need to play" games are all the other games that aren't in the "want to play" section". So all the ones I've bought/gotten that I'm not really excited to play, but I own them so I should play them. :P

Progress: Battle Realms (campaigns).

If only I could make this widescreen mod working, I would have finished the game sooner. My eyes bleeding looking at this garbage pixels.

Don't get me wrong, it was an awesome game. Played it religiously when I was mid-school, but now I am done with pixel graphic.... it's past my era.

Ah, I misunderstood then. I thought "need to play" meant "I must play this game or the Earth will crash into the sun" important, not "need to play eventually". I got the same kinda thing going on my account but I have the games listed as "unplayed freebie". As of now, I got 26 of them. Now if GOG could also give us more time to play them............

Hello! How did you like Red Faction? From the given games I would suggest you The Chronicles of Riddick. I once had a taste of the game and can say it is really worth a shot. Would you be interested in it?

Well it was good, not great, but good. It's basically a third person shooter where you got to go from A to B and kill all what moves. It has a great arsenal of weapons (especially the magnet gun wich I used half of the game :D) and the AI of the enemies it's pretty good (I played it on the Hard difficulty ).

I would gladly play The Chronicles of Riddick. Thank you!

HereForTheBeer: Jokes aside, is it good?
Sorry for the late reply (some trouble finding enough energy and rest in my head to post or write anything lately).

Though frowned upon, Jack Keane is quite funny. It has a sense of tongue-in-cheek humour. What's also likeable about the game is the 'hero' of the game doesn't want to be a hero at all, he just wants the money for the job he took on and go home.

The drawing style is lovely, really colourful/cheerful. Plus the voice-acting, though cliché, is quite good. I really liked the Indian bride with the heavy Indian accent and haughty demeanour.

How it stands out as an adventure game, I wouldn't know though. This is only my second adventure game (after having completed The Dark Eye - Chains of Satinav) and I play it on and off if I like a slow-paced game but I suck at puzzles. In every part of such a game, I consult a walkthrough 1 or 2 times (or more if needed).
I'm equally both tempted and afraid simultaneously to participate in this thread, hehehe. :)
Someone in another thread got me to thinking of another idea though too. They asked for a list of shorter one-day games to play, and it got me to thinking from some of the responses that I have games that would fit that category. Then I thought of looking up all of my games on howlongtobeat.com some day and making a database of completionist times for all the games, and sorting them from shortest to longest. That could act as a guide to an approximate order to complete more of them in less time sooner, modulated by how interested I am to play each one too (the whole experience has to be fun afterall). :)
The 2nd progress update on Fallout Tactics.
Assigned by Nymes

The game can't save while mission mode and usually missions take a few hours to finish. so once taken mistake I should play the same mission again and again...

In the 4th or 5th mission where I should guard a supply car in the hostile city.
My first try, I could not know how to drive the car...
After re-reading the manual carefully and understand how to move a car, in the 2nd try, I got a dynamite and using it on the gate accidentally detonated. Oh...
The 3rd try, I got the dynamite again and NEVER use it.
After killed almost all enemies in the city, my party went to the final zone where had MINE FIELD. My party accidentally on to the mine and were killed at once.UGH!!
The 4th try, I re-re-read the manual more carefully and shot the mines from distance (by CTRL+Right mouse crick), and finally beat the mission.:-)

Interesting idea. You may do it (make a sorted list by time of all your games) and then you can bring this list to the Club. I strongly believe there would me not one, but at least a few games that would have more or less same approximate time for completion. So my idea is: if you see you have 3 (or any other number, excluding 1) of games with similar time, bring them here. We, Gentlemen, shall suggest you which one to actually play. And then it would be most pleasant reading your progress updates or overall impressions on each game.

The one complexity, is that my GOG catalogue has 441 titles in it, and my Steam library has about 320 currently, not including codes I have not yet redeemed. Another several dozen from other services, and probably 200 or so CD/DVD games... To just put them on a list by typing their names will take 3 weeks. LOL Then looking all of them up on HLTB will take a long time too unless I could somehow script it. It's an interesting idea I want to explore though even if I do it only with a fraction of the catalogue and build it up over time. :) You may hear from me in the future! :)

I indeed hope to hear from you again! My GOG catalog holds 227 games, Steam catalog has 382 games, about 20 games elsewhere and a handful of games on CD/DVD (18 maybe). Though for the Club I had to limit myself to what I already had installed on laptop. I would expand the list later on.

Also, along side Blackguards I started Mars: War Logs and also play NFS MW (the new one) from time to time. I can give my mini reviews on those too sometime.

I think a more realistic approach for me will be to go through the other "one day games" thread list of games and ear mark the ones I own onto a list, then peruse my catalogue and hand pick a smaller number of titles to guestimate might be on the shorter side, then just look this subset of games up and get times for them all. A list of say, 30-50 games would be more manageable and a good start. In addition to that though I have a number of games already started that I never finished which should either be prioritized or at least added to the list because I do want to finish them all. The super long epic games (mostly RPGs) though would have to remain off the list as they take 200 years to finish hehehe. :)

A 200 years long game... That would be fun :P I can only agree on your idea to minimize the list to a manageable scale. And I would say you should most definitely add already started games. If I was in your shoes I would try to finish them first, while they are fresh in memory and easy to get back to.

Is it safe to say you admire RPGs very lot?
