Sick as a dog today(not covid, but still not too good)....was very weak/tired earlier(also high temp, and now slightly low temp) and couldn't sleep. After taking more medication(cough syrup/etc) I got some sleep, but am up once again for a bit.

Trying to play some games to feel better and take my mind off of things as best I can.....what are y'all up to?

So now we lose Meat Loaf.....and before that Sidney Poitier, Betty White, and Bob Saget.....will this sad crazy train** ever end? :|

From his musical works to his appearances in films like Rocky Horror Picture Show, this man did some awesome things, so:
In honor of this musical legend, a tribute

Beyond the above, I will be keeping a list of all passed celebs/notable figures in
the OP post.....if anyone knows of any i've missed, let me know and I will add them.

(** Interesting tidbit: Betty White and Bob Saget passed a few days after a "certain medical procedure".....didn't check the others yet)

I think I was either playing The Great Perhaps (which is a relatively short but very good stealth/adventure game with a unique twist), or right after that I played Penumbra: Overture (another great stealth puzzle/adventure game).

I hadn't realized Meat Loaf died but I knew about the others. Also three people from various bands (Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac and ZZ Top) recently died.

Didn't play Great Perhaps yet, but I own it...gotta get to it some day. And yeah, Penumbra is good(I finished the first one so far...need to finish the others).

Suggestion: if you haven't tried it yet, you should get/play Amnesia: Dark Descent. It is made by the same company, and is quite decent(well, besides the one "floor is lava" section and a few other tricky bits).

Do ya know which members, by any chance?
(If not, then no worries....I can look em up)

Found an interesting quote which I feel applies more and more these days for various things:
"The urge to save humanity is almost always a false front for the urge to rule" - H. L. Mencken

I have both Amnesia games but not the remake, so I'm debating whether to wait until I get that and play it instead, but I want to get through the Penumbra games first, anyway, which may take a while, because I skip around to various games. At the moment I'm playing Ys II.

I think it was Dusty Hill, Peter Green and I don't remember the other one.

I usually play the originals to save money......as a good number of times the remakes/remasters are high priced and/or "changed for modern tastes"(like with the one Sam and Max remake/remaster).

That said, either way sounds like a good bet......wait for the new one, and if it's not your cup of tea then try the original(which imo is pretty decent. the second one, Machine for Pigs, not so much......not due to content, but lag/glitches & it's tendency to crash on some systems).

Thanks for the info.....will check the names out later and add them when I am finally able(more on this in my thread update below).

Due to a failing power adapter, I might be out of touch and off the forums for several days if I can't run the system off the power cord alone. Ordered a new adapter, which I should get sometime this week....hopefully *fingers crossed* the system will function well enough until then, but if not then I will see y'all on or around friday.

Well good luck with that. Are you using a foreign PC which can't plug into a regular outlet?

Adapter wasn't being recognized by the PC anymore....turns out it was just a dirty connector, and just needed a bit of cleaning.

Oh well, still gonna keep the new one when it gets here.....in case this one ever does go kaput for good :)

A word of advice: stop keeping the adapter in the toilet, because that's not good for it. It should stay dry and non-fecal at all times.

What's an updoot?

Lol...good one :)

But yeah, I kept it plugged into the PC most times.....it just got a bunch of dust/etc on the contacts inside the plug. Couldn't clean it all out, as the plug opening is narrow/small, but I managed to get it charging the PC again.
