jlg6184: Well I liked PoP: Sands of time fine, but I remember the first TR game was well done, and quite fun, but I played a console version (Wii) of Underworld and thought it was horrible (but that could have been due to it being on the Wii). Since that, I have kind of avoided the TR games as if they were the plague. The "Guardians of Light" looks really decent though. Don't know, guess I was trying to hear from other gamers on the subject.

Mentalepsy: My biggest problem with the older TR games was the abysmal control (my second biggest problem was Core Design's marketing department), though I did enjoy The Last Revelation.

Whether you'd like Legend or Anniversary probably depends on why you hated Underworld.
Yeah the controls are abysmal for the original games 1-5, maybe 6 also.. I wanted to play the original tomb raider and while anniversary isn't 100% faithful, it's the best pc option to play the original again. Solid graphics with modern pc controls.

What's with steam though. First time I forget to uncheck save payment address and now I can't delete my address apparently until I buy something else and uncheck save address.

The controls were crampy in the first ones, I remember that much, but my problems with the franchise stemmed more from playing a sub-par version of the game on a crappy console (Wii). I am thinking I am just gonna go with TR: GOL for now, maybe grab anniversary since I liked the first game anyway (control issues aside). team isn't an issue for me. As I order through them quite frequently.

Underworld is considered to be one of the worst in the series in general though. Motion controls for me personally would only make it worse.

As the originals, there's no mouse look or strafing. The camera is apparently a nightmare.

edit: I tried a quick way to remove my address details and it worked. Just added a game, clicked checkout, uncehcked save address, pressed continue but return to store before committing purchase. I try again and see that the address fields are blank. I know no important info like credit card info was saved in the first place since I used paypal but the less information saved on my account the better.

I think I'm only going to buy the DLC packs for Guardian of Light.

I mean, Kain and Raziel. How cool is that?

Well since they're basically just skins (weapons, levels, etc all the same), not that cool?
Unless I'm missing something of course (and I loved the LoK series btw).

Voice acting by the original performers.

from what i've seen its reused sound clips from the old games rather than anything newly recorded, but its still amusing

Just a reminder - don't quote someones email without editing it out. I think he'll be happy if you deleted it out of the quote.

You see, it's because if he decides to delete it afterwards, he can't edit your posts.

Good point, edited it out :)

Really thought the 10000th post would get me a win though, guess I aimed for the wrong number xD

Yay, just redeemed my Far Cry! Thanks, chautemoc!

Coincidentally, Impulse has Far Cry for 50% off today, but only restricted to North America. Damn you publishers! ;)

Love the Kain Franchise. I thing I played Soulreaver at least 3 time on the PS1.
I got GOL already and "Things That GO Boom" with it (as Bonus) during Xmas Sale.
So the 3 remaining DLC are due now def.
Also GOL is the utmost best TR Game ever. It just boombastic funnnn! XD
a real "must-have" IMHO.

But at $2.49 TR Anniversary is highly recommended too... IMHO. :)
I really like it.

Does Test Drive Unlimited have install limits, or are the activations, how you say... unlimited? It's something I've been wanting for a while, and now that the sequel just came out, they put install limits on that one, so now I'm wondering if they did that with the first game as well.

Some of those deals are a bit trash. Total Annihilation is $4 compared to GOG's $6, and not only do they normally want $10 for a copy without extras, they throw in SecuROM, free of charge. They're just nice like that... -_-;

(Also, I wouldn't wish The UnderGarden on my worst enemy, but that's just me. The demo during the Steam treasure hunt was enough for me, I assure you.)
