Smannesman: I've bought so much stuff this month.. I feel dirty.
Still watching this thread like a hawk though.
In 2 hours and 36 minutes new Steam deals will show up :-)

And I only found out today that there is a CipherPrime deal on Auditorium and Fractal... Man, my wallet hates Christmas.
Does anyone know if the D2D promo discount codes work with pre-orders? The UK store has Dragon Age 2 for £34.99 which is already far cheaper than the EA store's Euro price of €49.99 but a 15% discount brings that down to an attractive ~£30 which is only ~€35.

Did you try entering the code? If it doesn't work it should warn you.

You can enter the codes even if you're not actually planning to buy, so there's no harm in trying.

Didn't think of that and it does indeed work. Roll on Friday. Had it pointed out to me the Signature Edition only lasts till the 11th of Jan.
I didn't see this posted. GamersGate has Tales of Monkey Island Complete Season at 66% off ($11.88).

Yeah I keep thinking about that. Not sure if I really want to pre-order so early. Will the additional content in the signature edition be available to purchase later as DLC?

chautemoc: Thanks for the tip on Mafia II, guys...I was going to get a friend from the US to get it for me but wasn't sure it'd work with Steam. Now I will.
avatar
bansama: It's a Steamworks game. All copies have to be registered to Steam.
Yeah, I know...that's a plus for me in this case (I'd prefer it to Amazon downloads).

I believe it's going to be the same as Stone Prisoner for DA:O in that you can buy it later. I guess I prefer to get the package together and to be honest it's a game I will be buying so it's just a question of spending the money now rather than then. Incedentally Vampire the Masqurade: Bloodlines is currently £7.50 adding that to DA2 and using the code Blitzen for 25% brings the price to ~£31, now that's too good for me to turn down.

Well I'll have to buy it from GamersGate for the £35 price tag, which is why I'm not sure I'll bother yet. Haven't finished the first one yet anyhow >_> but then, if enough people buy from GamersGate via my affiliate ID, I might just earn enough Blue Coins to bring the price down to one I'm prepared to pay...

Normally I would buy at GG anytime over D2D but the fact that discount code works on the pre-order is something I can't ignore.
I'm thinking of buying a few games on Gamersgate such as the Total War games, Mass Effect games, and Dragon Age games.

However all of them have Securom listed as DRM. Does these games come with an activation limit?

All recent EA games can have their activations revoked..most should revoke automatically when you uninstall. If not you can use this official tool.

Dragon Age and Mass Effect 2 don't use SecuROM (unless you buy the Mac version). EA used their new DRM with those games. I think it gives unlimited activations but you are limited to certain number of activations per month.
Cool, so what about the Total War games?

Actually, in general, how does the Securom work for most of the games on Gamersgate? Is it just a mild version of Securom which is hardly noticeable or do all of them have activation limits?

I'm sure some have activation limits, though not all. You're gonna have to check with GG on this one.
