bansama: Thank you! Now I'm really pleased I wasn't able to get Hot Pursuit from D2D yesterday. Just picked it up for under £12 along with Medal of Honor for under £14.

Anyone looking for a usable UK proxy, I recommend Expat Shield, works a charm for the EA UK store (and the BBC IPlayer for that matter).
Can I buy from the UK EA store using that proxy even of my credit card is not from the UK?

Kabuto: Well I received a $20 giftcard to gamestop/ebgames yesterday. Couple that with the $1.33 left on my old giftcard and that makes $21.33. Local gamestop/ebgames near me still sell the limited edition PC Bioshock 2 set for $39.99. I'm thinking on splurging on that tomorrow. However, I need some quick impressions on whether Bioshock 2 is worthwhile or just essentially the game game as Bioshock 1 aside from being a big daddy the second time around.

Lou: If you have a best buy any where near you they had BioShock2 on sale for $9.99 yesterday when I was doing some last minute shopping.
Best price we have is $19.99 for just the game at bestbuy in canada. It's the vinyl soundtrack that's really tempting me to skip just getting the game and goinf for the limited edition.

On the drm side, it seems there's securom (no activation limits on the securom side) but 15 activations via GFWL for a retail copy. I can live with that.

How DOES Green Man Gaming work exactly? Can I buy the game for my account and have it there until I finally download it or what? I'm confused.

It is kind of weird. If it is a game through their client, once purchased, the game can be downloaded only through said client. The also allow trade-ins at notably marked down prices on some games. In other instances, some of their games are Steam-Only redeemable, where you just punch it into your Steam account and go.

If you are curious about their service, just go there and check them out. I believe they have a special right now on Defcon: Everybody Dies, where you can purchase it with the following promo code DEFC0-N4GMG-FUTU4 and it will be free of charge. I don't think this service will every be on the level of Steam, but it isn't bad, the download speeds are a bit slow though.
Thx, i dont know about Defcon deal, have chance to improve my credit and save for a Steam game
Seems Cryostasis deal over, it is 10$ now

so to download the game i need to go back on the account via expat, or what?
i think dont need this, key EA games activate global by EADM, so you just need login download and play (remember create a new acc); i dont sure if EA can spot this glitch

I tried using Expat Shield (I already had it installed for BBC iPlayer) and it didn't work.

Amazon has the digital download version for $3.25. Picked that up and The Witcher for $5. Try that?

Nope. It should even download from your local servers. I downloaded both Hot Pursuit and Medal of Honor at speeds of around 8 to 12 MB/s -- a good indication that it was coming off the JPN EA servers.

You may have got a dud IP address. Just disconnect and allow it to find another one. As it certainly does work.
