If a game has lots of bugs or otherwise gets updated often, I strongly recommend against getting the gamersgate version. Rarely the games get updated unless you ask for it, and even then it is a 50-50, if you are lucky.

Then again, the retail patch tends to work with the GamersGate version. So you can most of the time just download whatever patch the devs/publishers make available via the usual channels. But yes, to get a patch hosted on GamersGate can sometimes take time due to them not being informed of patches by the developers/publishers.

If at all. Unless something changed over the last couple of months, Borderlands and Civ IV were never fully updated. I don't blame the people working there, but the people in charge. If they don't have enough people checking, hire more.

Then there is the whole DLC thing where rarely they appear on the PC in general, but even worse on GG. It pisses me off because I prefer buying from GG.

And I still haven't downloaded my copy of Velvet Assassin off GamersGate.

I am glad I don't live in a country with metered internet right now.
Interesting, GamersGate's Witcher is only 9,66GB.

And one question, how is Puzzle Quest compared to PQ2? If I own Puzzle Quest 2 is there any point in buying the first one?

For those who already bought Humble Indie Bundle 2, and missed out on the first, go check out your order page again and claim your complementary copies of the games from the original bundle. These, too, can also be redeemed on Steam.

Late adopters can still buy in for the original bundle at about $7 at the moment.

I need your guys help. I'm thinking of gifting MLB2K10 to my brother for christmas but while his laptop meets the min specs, I'm a little concerned if his laptop is suitable enough. Min specs are often misleading

Minimum:

OS: Windows XP, Vista, or 7 (Windows 2000 not supported)
Processor: Pentium 4 2.4 Ghz Single Core processor or equivalent (2.8 Ghz for Vista)
Memory: 512 MB or more (1 GB for Vista)
Hard Drive: 9.5 GB or more free space
Graphics: Video card with 128 MB or more memory and one of the following chipsets is required: ATI x1300 or better/ NVIDIA 6600 or better with Shader Model 3.0 support
Sound: DirectX 9.0c compatible

Intel core 2 duo 1.67GHz processor T5450 2mb L2 cache 667 MHz fsb

250GB SATA 5400rpm
Video card supports shader 4.0, HDR and DX10
He also does have a HD-DVD ROM so his machine is HTPC compliant.

What do you think?

The Steam store page says it includes "Multilingual game disc, D'jinni Adventure Editor, Two new adventures offering 5+ hours of gameplay, Official Soundtrack, Music Inspired by The Witcher album, Making-of videos, Official game guide, Map of The Witcher's world."

I'm guessing all the extra stuff is what's bloating the download by 3 GB, but who knows.

Should I buy it? Since Steam ran out of keys for it, there might not be many chances to get it from DD services.
