kjx: Alpha Protocol - GmG - cheaper than daily deal (?)

Smannesman: That's nice, although I would never touch those two other games.
Still a bit apprehensive though, because of all the negativity towards the game.

Anybody have any thoughts on Aaaah on Steam?
Two bucks isn't much.
Aaaah! isn't bad, it's kind of a base jumping type of game. If you want to try it out, OnLive has a free trial of it (if you are familiar with their service.)
From GG:

"It's time for the second week of Holiday Sales with over 80 great offers! The Buy 4, pay for 3 deal is still on, just fill your cart with 4 games, and get the cheapest one free of charge!

bansama: Did your version of Civ 5 register as a retail version? Thinking of getting Mafia 2 from GetGamesGo. 2K have apparently confirmed that keys registered as retail should work, even here, despite Valve still refusing to remove the pre-purchase from the store.
How do I check that I can only see an option to check the acquisition method of DLC? The Mongols DLC shows as Retail.

In the Steam client look for the <account name>'s Account link on the top right. Click that and it lists your "subscriptions" and the acquisition method -- which should be either Steam Store, Retail, Gift/Guest Pass or Complimentary.

The name of the game may also have Retail appended to it.

Aha. Yes it says GetGames Retail.

Ah, then hopefully Mafia 2 will be the same as there's no way I'm paying the $70+ being demanded by local importers.

Foxhack: Regardless of the ah... argument we had earlier in this thread, I'm thinking of buying Wallace and Gromit.

lowyhong: Just to let you know as a heads up, the W&G DVD is the only TT game which requires online activation, in case this sort of thing affects your purchase.
I don't care. Telltale isn't evil, and I doubt the games will have limited activations - and if they do, it might not even be a problem because the support staff is handy all the time. :)

Dejobaan games (the company that made Aaaah) makes polished and fun games, but they always succeed in making their games seem amateur somehow. It seems like they never quite reach their potential.

It's worth $2.50 though.
Not sure if its been posted, but Direct2Drive has Kings Bounty The Legend for $2.50. Considerably cheaper then I've seen anywhere else, so if you've been holding out on the game for whatever reason, like i have, think this would be the time to jump on it. xD

They also have Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts for $4.98. I have never played any of them so i honestly have no idea what the games are like.

Note: Might be region restricted.

The CoH games are pretty good. Best bet is to grab the Gold Edition of the original and Opposing Fronts, which adds a bunch of maps and doubles the # of factions you can play as to 4.

If you've played any of the Dawn of War games, they have similar mechanics in a WW2 setting (which makes sense, since Relic developed all of them). Pretty well polished at this point, lots of good maps to play on...I actually prefer skirmish play to the campaigns. And there are a ton of user made mods and maps available, too.

Ah i see. I love the DoW games, own the collection and still playing through them. Though my personal favorite is either Winter Assault or Dark Crusade. Will definitely have to keep a eye out for that Gold collection for CoH. Sounds like it be fun, especially if its like DoW.

Lol, I think that game's always on sale *somewhere* for that price or even lower. Certainly was a running joke some time ago xD

Err.. CoH is more like DoWII. Just on a slightly larger scale.

Anyway, if you want to find out if it's anything for you, you can always try Company of Heroes Online first, considering it's F2P.
Of course there are differences, but the overall gameplay is pretty much the same.

You can always buy the CoH and the expansions if you are more interested in the campaigns or the two additional factions.

Because it's not 75% off!
