Did anyone else buy Space Rangers 2 from GamersGate? If so, does anyone know how to bypass their 'copy protection'? Normally I just copy the setup file out of the temp folder but this time I can't actually find the setup file.
I got chime from the treasure hunt, hoping to get at least a TF2 hat in the process over the coming weeks and omg I'd so love to be the winner of those 100 games of my own choosing xD

You need to complete every single objective to get the Hat of Undeniable Wealth ... not sure that's worth spending £20 on R.U.S.E.

I got Chime just now, too.

Looks like I'm going to have to kick Heavy's ass today, as well. There's no way I'm buying RUSE for this, though.

In this particular case, look in the directory where you installed the game. setup.exe should be there. It's the same file, so you should be able to use it to install the game. I'm pretty sure I tried it myself and it worked, but give it a shot and see what happens.

There are also other tricksy ways to grab the setup file for the handful of games that behave this way.

No intention of getting that one but the other 2 maybe, although probably just the one (5 objectives) :)

Well, I don't have the game but if you have an installer window running in front of you then the file must be lying somewhere. Normally in the temp download data a file called "launch" gets decrypted by the downloader and becomes the setup file. If you don't see something like that then you should check in your temp folder (Under Win7 it's usually C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Temp). Look for the folder or files with the latest modification date.

Ok, I've managed to track it down by bringing up the task manager. I found the installer in the process list and then looked at its properties. It's in C:\Windows surprisingly...

You're sure you downloaded from the real GG? O_O
That doesn't sound very good to be honest...

33,5€ on the mainland. :D
It's a good game(maybe even a great game), i can recommend it, but the sale price in euros is equal to the normal price in other currencies, so.. :S
I do have to admit, that's is a genius structure for a pre-Christmas sale to compete with all the other digital distributor's pre-Christmas measures. I do love it when competition comes together. Tempted to pick up £1 Chime for a third entry.

Objective: get entered into the 100 game draw. That is a tasty prize and a half.

Do note that you are required to have 10 games on your Wishlist to enter.

Also, judging by the fact that we're talking Steamworks achievements, here's your chance. Nice to see they aren't locking out retail versions as well.

Definitely the real one. I guess they worked out people were copying things straight out of the temp directory so they decided to decrypt the installer to a more hidden location. It's bloody annoying considering they say the game is DRM free.

I've seen it for less than that. Plus it's a Ubisoft game and even without the UbiDRM I'm sceptical about the quality.
Brilliant marketing by Steam to bridge the gap between the sales because they know people would be reluctant to buy stuff. Was waiting for a sale on Poker Night -- might be cheaper at Christmas but not by much over $3. I'll also probably pick Chime up at $1.25 just because it's so cheap and, hey, another entry into the contest. You also have two days to complete each set of 'objectives.'
