prakaa: how'dyou get the free steam one?
avatar
gyokzoli: That was not free for me. But I remember that if you preordered King's Bounty Armored Princess, you got a free copy of The Legend and if you already had it, you got a gift copy.
There was a glitch on Steam earlier today where everyone was given the game for free. If you downloaded it shortly after that happened, then apparently you were able to play it. They fixed the glitch however. And people are reporting mixed results when it comes to still being able to play it or not.

I already had the game, but apparently thanks to this glitch it popped up notification telling me that I have an extra copy of Legend to gift as I pre-ordered Crossworlds (when Steam sold the game at an erroneous price of $9.99!), I still have that gift, but I shouldn't have that seeing as I didn't own Legend prior to the Crossworlds pre-order.

So I guess the real "winners" of today's glitch are those like me, who didn't own Legend, pre-purchased Crossworlds, got a free copy of Legend for themselves in doing so, and then in logging on to Steam got an additional copy to gift =)

So in other words they're just covering their arses in case the game doesn't reach release? Well that makes sense.

Al1: Ok, so the first day of the 1c advent calendar on Gamersgate is A Farewell To Dragons 75% discount £3.74. Not sure about other regions.
I've come to like 1c, they have surprisingly fun games. Space Rangers Reboot probably being my favorite.

I thought it was the same principle as with Overgrowth: they're sharing their work in progress with those who pre-order to involve the community in their progress and it also helps finance the on-going development of the game. Once the game is done, you can download it for free of course.

Or am I somewhere mistaken?

Like pops just said it's like a public ipo buyin to fund development. Imagine playing the game from the early stages and being uber elite when the n00bz sign on on official release day hehe.

Don't get your hopes up. :P They'll probably reset the game for that very reason.

gyokzoli: Now, I have 3 copies of KB. 1 from GamersGate, 1 from Steam and 1 from GOG. I'd happily give the GG copy to anyone if it was possible.
What would you want for the GG copy (if it is giftable)?

I sent a question regarding this to GG support. I'll get back to you as soon as I get the reply.

Alrighty, thanks.
Generally a game on Gamersgate is giftable if you haven't downloaded it yet and haven't retrieved the serial key (if there is one).

That is what I thought too, doesn't it have like a 'gift' button next to the game in "my games" if it is giftable?

Well, for me, this game doesn't have a gift button, but I have around 15 games on my account and only 2 of these has the gift option in spite of that I only downloaded and installed 1 game.

That is rather odd, it isn't a big deal either way though, I do appreciate you checking though!

$5 here in the US. What's it like? Kind of looks like they borrowed the Aftershock/Afterlight engine for this game, and made it kinda steam-punky. Listed as aRPG. Says DRM free, too. hmm.
