Detlik: I have problem and need serious help.....I am actually considering taking advantage of blizzard sale, picking up Wotlk, then at christmas Cataclysm and returning to wow....should I?

KavazovAngel: You should. Come on, your life is not worth living anyway. WoW is your only escape from this cruel world. Remember what they told you, if you ask nicely, they can even help you find yourself a nice female Tauren to settle with. Or Troll, if you're after the more skinny ones.

Thanks everyone. I may pick up DMC4 as well. I rather liked the first game, and it's been ages since I've played a beat-em-up.

Virama: It is superb. I use a longitech gamepad and it works flawlessly. :)
How does that Logitech pad work in general? I like my 360 pad except for the fact that the D-pad is shit, but I've heard that some games only support the 360 pad.

I've also read unflattering things about some models of Logitech pads, like that you have to toggle between analogue mode and D-pad mode, or that the sticks are prone to failure.

The only game I know of that only supports the 360 pad is Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Most games will support standard gamepads. In fact I use a cheap pad I got from Gamestop simply because the 360 d-pad is rubbish for Street Fighter IV.

Does FEAR 2 require Steam?
Post edited November 25, 2010 by chautemoc
Most likely. Use of steam is listed on the retail box copies in stores so it should be the same case here. What's odd is that it lists securom as drm and the retail copies make no mention of using securom. It's also strange that you can download the 1.05 patch separately despite it being tied to steam.

edit: A d2d reviewer said steam was required for their digital copy. So most likely yes.

Lately we've seen a few games show up outside of Steam with Steamworks ripped out, so maybe that's the case here? I'm going to email them and find out. Support told me a few months ago that they don't carry Steamworks games by policy, so either way, I'd like to find out.

I know that Aliens vs Predator classic has no steamworks. But because of that it has no multiplayer.
direct quote from here:

"Howdy, folks. Allow me to spoil some of the surprises coming up in the rest of this week's sales.

There will be more large packs (like today's HL2 10-pack/Borderlands 6-pack/RUSE 6-pack/Deus Ex 8-pack) every day until the 29th. I'm not sure the exact days that each will happen, or what the prices will be, but here's what the games will be, and the quantities of the packs, so y'all can start to do some basic planning on group-buys:

- Aliens vs Predator (2010) 6-pack
- Audiosurf 12-pack
- Braid 10-pack
- Counter-Strike: Source 6-pack
- Defense Grid: The Awakening 10-pack
- Empire: Total War 6-pack
- Freedom Force 10-pack
- Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City 6-pack
- Just Cause 2 8-pack
- Lead and Gold: Gangs of the Wild West 10-pack
- Left 4 Dead 2 6-pack
- Mount & Blade: Warband 6-pack
- Nyxquest: Kindred Spirits 10-pack
- Osmos 12-pack
- Portal 6-pack
- Puzzle Quest 2 10-pack
- Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale 8 pack
- Red Faction: Guerrilla 8-pack
- Splinter Cell: Conviction 6-pack
- Trine 8-pack
- Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II - Chaos Rising 8-pack
- World of Goo 12-pack

Also, there will be more packs of indie games similar to today's Indie Energy Pack. 5 game per pack, on massive discount, one day only. Again, I don't know the daily order these will come in, or exactly what the discount will be, but, here's what the names and contents of the packs will be:

- Indie Air Pack: Altitude, DogFighter, Flotilla, Gratuitous Space Battles, Plain Sight
- Indie Clever Pack: Doc Clock: The Toasted Sandwich of Time, Eufloria, Iron Grip: Warlord, VVVVVV, World of Goo
- Indie Pulse Pack: Audiosurf, Beat Hazard, Bit Trip Beat, The Polynomial, Rhythm Zone
- Indie Puzzle Pack: Cogs, Droplitz, Puzzle Dimension, Shatter, Tidalis
- Indie Story Pack: And Yet It Moves, Gish, Puzzle Agent, Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale, Jolly Rover

And of course, there will be more individual games on Daily Deals every day, but I don't have any info on what those will be. You'll just have to wait and see! Also, disclaimer: if any of this info is inaccurate, then oh well."

Thanks. Please let me know, and also if there's no MP.

WOOT! Time to go splurge! Question, I can't find Necrovision's DRM on the physical copy. What is it?
I don't want to go off topic and start a litany of posts like this -- but do we typically use this thread to organize pack 'buy-ins?' If so (<_<) I'd be interested in Puzzle Quest 2 and possibly Just Cause 2. The bulk of those packs are pretty overwhelming but hat's off to anyone willing to organize it.
