Got Age of Empires III plus the two expansions from the Window Live site where they had a one day sale - so I got it for 10p and Americans got it for 10c!

Now that's a deal!

I forget who wanted me to post about this when it happened, but anyway...

The Matrix Games holiday sale has begun. Through midnight of January 10th, most of the catalog is somewhere around 30% off.

A lot of AGEOD titles marked down to $11-$14.
Distant Worlds is $26.99.

Also, Matrix has launched a new web store. They are no longer using Digital River, so no more nonsense about buying long term download access.

Any particular recommendations from the games on sale? I know it is a very broad and subjective question, but there are far too many to even begin to choose from, and most of these games look interesting at the very least

I'll post this here seeing as a lot of you are considering getting Alpha Protocol from Gamersgate and this doesn't really warrant its own thread.

A patch that supposedly removes the DRM.

Hm, I'd read it just cleared up activation issues, but maybe that's what they meant..didn't want to advertise it..or something.

Steam version should be auto updated... Well usually. I've only had to manually update one Steam game and that was an indie one.

I really have no idea at all. I heard it removes the DRM; and that would be in line with Sega's own promises. But there's no official word on the matter that I can find.

Just like every other version then. You could give it a try. Maybe it even removes the need for the Steam client (if it needs it now).
