riddler214: Does the new GFWL client now supports resuming unfinished downloads? Last I heard, once your download was interrupted, there's no way to resume and continue where it left off.
I stopped the download of AoEIII after purchasing it, and as you can see in the attached image, it presents me with a Download button. Said button works just fine.

Trilogy: AoE3 0,10 € in Finland too. I'm glad to see europe get some love too... It's probably an error though but...
But they don't like Hungary since it does not let me buy the bloody game...

Did you use the client or the website?
The website told me it wasn't available in my region, but when I started the client it was available.

I tried on the website. Now I tried with the client but the client cannot even connet to Live. I don't know what can I do now since the client is even in the exceptions list in the firewall.

edit: I installed the latest version of the Livve client. Still cannot connect, but it installed a separate Games for Windows Marketplace client. That can connect fine, but does not even list AoE3 so I cannot buy that.

edit2: after several reinstalls now I see it on the Marketplace client but it keep telling me this offer is available only for xbox gold members.

It's pretty messed up.. perhaps I could get it because I have UK set as my region on my 360?

Yes, I just read on a Hungarian forum that it can be bought without problems if the xbox live region is set to UK.
Weeeell that sucks. AoE is shown in the main page in the Games for Windows client. BUT when I click the big image that says "download the game now" it redirects to a content not found error page. Oh well.

At least when Steam has a sale on content that is region-locked they don't show those ads in the main page :(

And why the hell is AoE 3 region locked, that is silly.

You can ask the same stuff for a lot of things. Different divisions, they don't really care if the product is successful worldwide, they only care that their division makes a profit with it.

lowyhong: Black Friday Sale: Eschalon 1 giveaway when you buy Book 2 next Friday. It won't be cheaper during the sale, but at least all the proceeds go straight to Basilisk.
The sale on GamersGate is a bit cheaper with both games at $22 together. They also give you some blue coins, but not too much.

Does buying from the developers give you additional features? What about DRM?

Happened to me but then it worked later.

You can order the retail (boxed) version and still get Eschalon Book 1, so go for it if that's your cup of tea. No DRM as far as I know. Also, you'll be supporting Basilisk Games even further since the amount that you pay goes straight to them.

SamuelErikson: The latest GfW deal:
Age of Empires 3 for $0.10.

Edit: Please note that this appears to only be for people in Canada.

Catshade: You can buy it from US account if you buy it through the GFWL client.
It won't accept my US credit cards. Probably because my IP is Mexican.

I'll take my ten cents elsewhere.

The GFWL client resumes if you pause, but if there is a connection issue, you have to start over. I was about 5 GB into Bioshock, connection dropped for about 5 minutes, when I reconnected to the net, it made me restart the download (little pissed about that....)

Any one have some pointers?

Just tried to buy the Eschalon Games on GamersGate and it refused my card. Is this a problem they have because I have never purchsed from them before? I use the same card for D2D, GOG, and today Games for Windows (Age III) without issue. I refuse to get a paypal account.

Thanks - Lou

The default method used to be MoneyBookers, but now appears to be CC via PayPal (?) if you are coming from the US. I just selected the MoneyBookers option, and off I went. (Actually, I saw PayPal, said, heck no, this is different and switched it back to MB).
