ilves: they don't want to sell things in more places to make more money? strange assumption to make...

Not when it probably costs them a lot of time in negotiations (translations/interpretations/legal fees -- as applicable). Companies like people tend to take the easiest and cheapest way to make money and if that means not pursuing worldwide releases then naturally, they won't pursue them.

bansama: That's the common excuse, yes. But all it boils down to, is they most likely aren't even *trying* to get the rights for other regions.

Wrong. Stardock workers have made it very clear on IRC and the forums that they are trying to get the widest releases possible but they have little pull compared to retailers and must accept the terms they are granted (for now).
In 5 and a half hours, Mechwarrior 4 will be released for free:

Free is good, but is it fun? Mechwarrior 2 was awesome.

Also @ Impulse, if you prefer one to the other.
does anyone know what's up with the impulse deals (warlords battlecry, nemesis of the roman empire, etc) that have been on their sail list since the beginning of time?

Yeah, because a company would never lie to make themselves look good, right? Such as that "Gamers Bill of Rights" for example...

I would say they are simply price reductions they just list them as sales for whatever reason -- perhaps to make them look more tempting to potential purchasers? (Such as making them think the price could go up at any time, thus trying to get them to purchase now -- similar tricks to super markets, by the way).

Well, at this point the issue appears to be personal.
Refusing to take someone's statements on good faith with no rational justification for said refusal generally indicates an irrational personal resentment.

Ugh I was misinformed, apparently it's an expansion, MW4 seems to be scheduled for November.

Not at all. I just won't blindly accept what companies state when they have a track record to the contrary. Unless you can provide undeniable proof that Impulse *do* work towards getting currently restricted games released worldwide, then there is no reason the believe them when they say that they try.
