Rohan15: Chaser looks pretty good for it's price. Anyone play it? And is it worth the $5?
It's pretty epic corridor shooter with some fairly impressive set pieces (for its time). What lets it down is that there is a lot of chaff in there as well. It's a bit rough around the edges in places. But I'd say it's worth $5, yeah.
Impulse has a Halloween sale that includes some great games, including Amnesia: The Dark Descent for $10 and Dead Space for $10. Both of these are fantastic horror games. Amnesia: TDD is the scariest game I have ever played.

If you are willing to pay full price though ($20), if you buy Amnesia through the company's website, you will get a DRM free version of the game, plus a Steam key for activating the game through Steam.

nmillar: It would limit the available memory for other games; you'd have to go to msconfig and re-enable the RAM you've previously disabled.
Yeah, I thought that might be the case. Damn shame there's no RAM limiting compatibility mode.

That's interesting, them giving out both versions. Rather cool of them.

Actually I'm pretty sure that was only for pre-orders.
Thanks, got it. Looks like a nice game. :)
Everyone buy this, it's an awsome game.
Wow, contemplating grabbing this....
http://www.impulsedriven.com/explore/onsale Halloween sale, RE5, Amnesia, Penumbra, Plants vs Zombies, Dead Space, DMC4, etc.
Wrestling fan? Have a God complex? Wanna be a prison inmate, soccer star or music star?

All these are free now or you can get them on disc for $9.99

Here's where to download them http://www.mdickie.com/downloads.htm

Thanks for the link. I can safely say that I have never heard of any of those games before. Lol.

Looks tubular-tastic. Dual Core requirements would kill my AMD 2400+.
There's actually two other games on Steam (four if you consider Peggle and that Grand Prix simulator -yeck!) that are free - one is Alien something or other and America's Army but, once again both are too large for my processor.

carnival73: I've played an half hour of it (been busy reinstalling and defragging all day after my recent format.) and from that half hour I would have to say that it's well worth $2 USD.

Picture Gothic (vast non linear 3D world) but with Diablo-style battle controls (click on enemy and your character starts auto attacking until death.). You steer your character with the W key to move him forward the mouse with right button held down to turn him around (might be a bit sloppy to program to a gamepad if you're like me and program most your games to be played with a dual analogue controller.).

At the beginning of the game you've got different tutor's that train you for different forms of combat like ranged with bow or spells with magic or melee with weapons just like Gothic II.

You learn different battle manuevers and spells which are hot keyed to 1-9 (I'm not sure if you can use them any other way other than clicking icons at the bottom of the screen because this is a bit wonky).

You pick up, equip and trade lots of items that enemies drop if your leveled high enough to use the items (much like Diablo).

jlg6184: Alright, thanks for the detailed post, as it sounds like a decent game. I'm gonna have to check out my paypal, and see what I got to work with.
At $2 I'd gift a couple of these but I had to borrow $2 from my partner for my copy. Lol. I'm a casual security guard that gets 3 days of work a week, at the most, the upside is that if some sort of mega computer tallies up all of our stats when we die, I'll be in the top ten list of people that had to work the least.

I know how it is though, some of the most cheapest things in life become available at times when they are the hardest to afford. =D

Hopefully not a repost. Didn't notice it earlier anyways.

TellTale Gales is giving away the first episode of Back to the Future for free. I do not know much about the game itself or what it is like, and their website for it shows very little. But hey, free is free.

Promo code should already appear in the cart, but if not, it is "121GIGAWATTS" without quotes.

Reposts are fine, some people I expect only check the latest page anyway.
