Agreed, that is rather annoying. I had similar issues when I got Dragon Age (though I had issues with the game, so EA ended up hooking me up with some added "exclusive content" anyway).
Ubisoft having GBP10 sale or something

BTW Gish is also on sale at Gamersgate. I highly recommend it, p. cool game (and quite overlooked).

Use HotSpot Shield when connecting to impulse. HotSpot gives you an US IP address via a VPN, which might fool the system into believing you're in the US, and therefore allowigng you to download your game :)

Nimnio: Conflicted. Yes, Gal Civ 2 vanilla is worth $10, but it's an underhanded sale. The expansion packs (2) add fantastic content, so if you enjoy GC, you're going to want them. Here's the case I'm imagining:

1. Buy Gal Civ 2 vanilla for $10.
2. Play it, love it, want the expansions.
3. Discover that each expansion is $20.
4. Grow resentful.

prakaa: Ditto for Civ 4...
Civ 4 Complete (Civ IV + 2 Expansions + Colonization) has been on sale for $10 several times on Steam thou. I think D2D has also done that deal before, so the "Ditto" wouldn't really apply... I'm yet to see a CivIV sale that doesn't include its expansions.

Wardell has already pointed out that all of that DLC/Exclusive crap will be given to the rest of the customers in a month or two. This was established at launch (it was just overshadowed by the rest of the drama :p).

I sent off an email to several different 'support' addresses and all the emails sent back an auto response saying that the subject line of the email was invalid. After about an hour of writing the same explanation over and over again, I was finally linked to a support ticket page and by that time I couldn't be arsed any longer.

I've just come to realized that some digital distrib games are going to work and others won't so it's always a gamble with no going back and I make sure not to purchase any digital games with too large of a price tag from anywhere.

If I spend more than twenty for a PC game, I'm going to get a hard copy from a retailer whom will make a return if there is a problem.

I can download it ok, it just seems that the download is corrupt.

Empire Total War $15 on Green man Gaming

http://www.greenmangaming.com/games/empire-total-war/

It plugs into steam anyway

I second the recommendation. I got it as part of the Humble Indie Bundle pack, it's a fun game, liked the multiplayer mini-games as well.

Question: How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Answer: What you must do to learn jumping properly :p

I'm still not sure where my copy of Painkiller that I bought from them went.
Any idea if Empire will run welll on:

2.16 GHz Dual Core
2GB RAM
Nvidia 7600GT (256)

?

I tried the demo years ago and it didn't work too well... (in terms of graphics)

You have to download and install their client to be able to download, install and play anything you've bought from them.

It seems you're meant to rock the crosspad up and down and time it with jumps. Press down, jump, press up as you're ascending, start pressing down as your descending, hit jump when you reach the ground and start pressing up again. The bouncing momentum is meant to get you high enough but there's something about my hand/eye coordination where my hand freezes up on the gampad.

Perhaps it's because I've been playing mouse-driven PC games for too long and it's been awhile since I've done a console-style platformer. =D

Yup, have their client installed ....or had it installed rather.

If you do a Google search for Green Man Gaming and Painkiller Black you'll see that I'm not the only one that got it but didn't get it. ....I'm the only that paid for my copy however.

Fortunately the folly only cost me $5 NZD.

I would skip it. Unless of course you only tried at higher graphical settings.
What cpu is at 2.16ghz?

The demo is an awful technical mess. I had no end of problems with it myself. The game has been improved a great deal since launch.

That said, I think you're out of luck on that one. It's not overly demanding, but it still needs at least a bit more RAM.
