Realism? The fuck ya'll talking about? That game is about as realistic as a H.P. Lovecraft god.

Killing Floor is wayyyyy better.
well it's a great deal for both of them, is there still alot of activity? i mean enough to join a random game most times of the day?
(sorry if i sound like a total n00b, this is my launching pad into steam gaming)

akwater: If they get it on steam doesnt it show up as your friends recently bought....? I know Michael always seems to know when i buy tons of games

Rohan15: Stalker in training.

akwater: So then i get the money?!

:) kick ass!

Rohan15: Sorry, this is not the money you are looking for.
The first thing that pops up in Steam for me is the home page. It always says SHIT YOUR FRIENDS BOUGHT on the right side.
You must not have noticed the 'realistic' where in those two lines indicate I don't mean it exactly, but figuratively.

Anyway, Killing Floor is good for what I paid, $5. But it doesn't have the sense of progression the way L4D has. Plus I like the look of L4D more, but Floydinizer can make that decision with the screenshots.

There's still a lot of activity, even without the sale.

Mine doesn't say that.

No, I saw it. I just never saw any realism in the first or second one. Too easy of a game.

well the killing floor zombies look more like sci-fi zombies, so i'm tilting more towards left4dead :p

They're like failed science experiments called Zeds or something, which is probably why.

But yeah, whatever gives you that zombie fix.

Floydinizer: hey guys i'm thinking about buying left4dead while it's on sale, but i don't know if i should buy the bundle or only left4dead2. Is there any reason to buy the first game aswell? has it any different game modes or anything like that?
Left for Dead has completely different campaigns and boss zombies then Left for Dead 2, so I'd say definitely.

I'm willing to call it subjective, but I'd have to guess that 99.9% of players will not find L4D too easy on Expert difficulty. An excerpt from the L4D wiki: "Friendly fire inflicts full damage to the Survivors. Avoid friendly fire at all costs. One direct shot from a Pump Shotgun or Auto Shotgun will instantly incapacitate a teammate."
I'm one of those who prefer the first Left 4 Dead... better atmosphere, less zany and more moody.

Nimnio: snippity
That was still an easy game on Expert. Pistols ftw.

Back on topic, another GoGamer deal. Enjoy.

Rohan15: $10 no one here buys it.
Yeah, who is going to spend $10 on a MechWarrior 2 map? Does it even install on modern systems anymore? IIRC, I-76 used the same engine as MechWarrior 2, and getting I-76 to work properly requires some Righteous VooDoo (heh) to get working nicely.

edit: Modern Warfare? Never heard of it. Is it any good? I have heard of Call of Duty - that's something like Unreal Tournament's domination mode, right? Where you have to hold certain checkpoints longer than the other team? Hope I'm close.

There's also a singleplayer mode, where you play as a waterboy for the US Home Team. Basically, you just run every single errand they tell you to do, without question. There are also intermittent pop-a-mole segments, except they made the moles look human..

Oh wait, you're referring to Call of Duty and not Modern Warfare? Well it's almost the same thing, except you're the waterboy for the US, Soviet Russia and English teams.

Actually, I think we're starting to digress, so to drive this back on topic, I shall state my sentiments towards this week's Gamersgate deals: bleh. I was hoping they'd have Aveyond Complete, instead of the later 3 games. :(

Okay, back on topic. Why does every DD outlet that I've come across only sell Broken Sword 2 & 3 (this week seems to be Gamer's Gate)? Is EA or UbiSoft the sole distributor of Broken Sword 1?

GamersGate also sell BS1, but it's the recently released DC version. Which probably explains why it's not discounted.

gyokzoli: Well, Greenmangaming uses a very strict DRM. As far as I know the client checks your licence every week or so, and you cannot play without the client.
I've checked this, it reauthenticates the DRM every 3 days. Which is why I stopped using them. That was simply way too short a time period.
Alpha Protocol just plummeted to $20 on amazon.com for PC: http://www.amazon.com/Alpha-Protocol-Pc/dp/B0016G88RO/ref=cm_cr-mr-title

It's a very good Deus Ex-style RPG with some bug issues, but nothing that stops it from being fully playable. For old-school RPG fans I think it is more than worth $20.

I reviewed the game on amazon and my review was highly rated (unlike most of them) and you can read that here if you like: http://www.amazon.com/review/R13DUSDJ6PU0EX/ref=cm_cr_dp_perm?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B0016G88RO&nodeID=468642&tag=&linkCode=
