Crafting.

I don't know anything about Stranded II. So I wouldn't know. It's singeplayer and multiplayer. If you play it on any mode other than peaceful then survival plays a big role in the game. Otherwise it's mostly about mining, building and exploring. There's plenty enough of all three to be done to keep you busy. I'm only playing it singeplayer too. I found quite a bit while out on a trek without ever going very deep to find it. Surprisingly it's coal that I'm starting to run a little low on right now... all that glass for my tower.

Wow. Google Stranded 2, I think they sound quite similar. I'm kinda getting interested by this (beyond the simplistic free version)

It does seem like there are similarities.

The free version doesn't really do the full thing justice. The only real advantage is that you get all those block types in infinite supply without ever having to mine anything. Which is useful for quicker constructions. But not really the kind you can take so much pride in. I know that when I look at the obsidian facade of my tower that I mined all that shit out of lava infested pits.

The free version is a very simplistic take on Minecraft.

You're burning the coal? I've been saving it specifically for torches and maintaining a small forest for smelting. Wood can be replenished after all -- just hack the leaves and little branches will fall which can then be planted.
