gyokzoli: Dogfighter is 50% off on Steam. Anyone tried it?

I tried it during the beta. Keep in mind they could have fixed it, but I am pretty sure my problems were design-related.
Power-ups are just too powerful.
The bad kind (reversed controls, stalls, etc) are far too dangerous. You are pretty much guaranteed to die if you touch one of those.
The homing missile is just way too powerful. You can randomly fire those with nobody in sight, and score a bunch of kills. The rest of the guns felt somewhat balanced, but the homing missiles alone ruined it for me.
I don't remeber if it was mentioned but Total War Napoleon and the new Alien vs Predator are at half price at getgamesgo. I got the AvP, you get a cdkey to activate the game on Steam.
49.99 euros at Steam, about 15 euros at getgamesgo.

DavidGil: Edit: I also have around 2.19 in Blue Coins. Was thinking Vivisector or Planet Alcatraz, any suggestions? I don't want to spend anymore money... but I might buy the cheapest coin package to grab something.

Navagon: Even the Youtube they're using to advertise the game makes it look incredibly bad. If you can stretch your budget by a couple of pennies then Men of War is a must have at that price.

I watched Planet Alcatraz videos. I won't comment about the game, looks like a good idea but with very 90's gameplay and graphics, but the big thing is the voice overs. My gods they are awful! They make Two Worlds voice acting sound like the best voice acting in the world. I actually laughed when I heard it the first time. Really really bad.

I already own Men of War Gold Edition and faces of War sadly. Picked them up a few weeks ago when they were last on sale. Stronghold Collection or UFO Extraterrestials Gold would be tempting but I just don't have the money for either.
If those games aren't good though, wondering if it's best to save those coins for next week. Might be a point and click adventure game sale, as I enjoy those games. (I can hope anyway)
As it is:
Total Annihlation I'd buy from GoG if I do buy it. The only others I see within the price range are You Are Empty and Future Wars (not sure I fancy that one).

DavidGil: Bought Spellforce Universe. 5 games in the pack (well, 2 and their expansions). Each game and expansion is supposed to have a lengthy campaign, so I figured it was good value.

Btw, I don't know if anyone else has noticed this but I saw that Deus Ex: Game of the Year edition has been removed from Gamersgate. Not sure why. It was on sale the other week, so I grabbed it then. So I just find it odd, especially considering Invisible War is still available.

Do not buy vivisector it is complete tosh. The story and voices are weak, the gameplay is very tedious and repetitive to start with, i wouldn't even give it 2 out of 5. Sure it gets a bit better the more you play through it but considering how poor it is to start with that isn't saying much. I only paid 1.50 for it and i still feel like i was robbed.

Cheers for the reply, scratching Vivisector off the list. Of interest regarding Planet Alcatraz, just found this thread:

Might be interesting afterall.

You are Empty is actually very good for a fairly straightforward FPS. The art direction is head and shoulders above most other titles of the time. I loved the style of the videos.
The architecture does a lot better job of depicting an eastern European city than HL2 did. In fact, even now there are few titles that have done such a brilliant job on city architecture. It's no surprise the youtube for it focusses on the level design for 90% of the time.
The modelling on enemies definitely doesn't hold up so well. Nor does the terrible voice acting which is laughably bad. But the gameplay is solid and for that price it's well worth it.
Regarding You Are Empty, don't forget it comes with STARFORCE.
Yeah, I just noticed that. No idea what Starforce is like these days. If activation limits are a problem with Starforce, they're not a big deal with Gamersgate at least judging off what people say.
What Navagon said though does still make me interested in the game. Noted your review as well on the website, Navagon. Planet Alcatraz seems to be drm free though according to the description. With it being compared to Fallout by some people, even if it's nowhere near as good (mainly localisation issues from what I can gather and voice acting), it makes me interested. (Possibly story issues as well, but everything else sounds okay from what I read on 1C's forum.)
Interested to see what people think of it because I noted it referenced earlier in the thread, if you did go ahead and purchase it.

Dragobr: I started X2 but quickly decided to play something else. I'll just have to wait until I'm in the right mood for them.

Here's a few hints:
Don't play X2 if you have X3, and get all of the available free extra content from Egosoft for X3, plus patches. X3 is basically a lot more beautiful and streamlined than X2, and the story thus far is easy to read through without missing much action. And play with a joystick and keyboard, mouse is not that useful. Other than that, it's a great game when you feel you need to destroy a few pirates and bump their escape pods like flies on a windshield. :)

That's exactly why I want to play X2 first. Once I play X3, it will be very hard to go back to it, and I want to play all my games.
But thanks for the advice =)
In the GamersGate sale, Spellforce Universe cost $15, but Spellforce Platinum and Spellforce 2 Gold together (bought separately) cost only $10.
What?

Bitterly disappointing. You don't fight any dogs at all.

Happens a lot with DD sales. You've really got to keep your eyes peeled as I'm sure most publishers are banking on people not paying enough attention.

That's what I thought too.
Btw the pages for the Spellforce games don't indicate their DRM. Does this mean they're DRM free?
