Dragobr: GamersGate's Week 3 is coming in now.
Lots of strategy games.
*BTW, I did think about Faces of War all over again... And bought it this time.

They r spamming FOW (really give away so easily get it with blue coins); last week i had Oblivion from Steam and UT3 Black form GG; maybe buy nothing this week
/ps: But price of Civ IV Complete 's so sexy, will think twice lol

*off*
Speaking about Stardock and Elemental.
Now, one thing I think I can say (and I’m not promising this because all things are ultimately decided by the IT gods) but it is our plan to make the “gold” version of the game available a bit early to those in the beta and those who pre-order will also likely get it a bit early. We hope to start pre-loading Elemental onto machines early to mid next week to reduce strain.

KavazovAngel: I just checked the co.uk site, and it appears that 1 dollar = 1 pound. That's crazy!

I know. You've got to be really careful. Luckily we have didimatic to tell us where the rip offs are.
Maybe after my mother gives me the $400 I loan her will I buy any games this week. WHY is the Faces of War games and the such always on sale? Not that I'm complaining.

Crassmaster: Gamersgate Week 3 Sale
-Men of War 80% off - $2.99
-Men of War: Red Tide 80% off - $4.39
There are some others, but those are most of the notables.

Has anyone played these games? Can anyone recommend them?

There is a demo out if you want to try them.
GREAT offer. IMO Men of War is one of the best real time tactics WW2 game. It's not a wargame, but a slightly more detailed RTS.
For the price, get it and the expansion pack. Good investment.

I highly recommend that tow truck simulator. GOTY, mark my words. I hope that game gets a deal this week.

Is it story driven? Or?

It's Soldiers: Heroes of WW2 with 'better' graphics, gameplay, and levels. Hard as hell, and insanely epic.

Seeing as it's going head to head with Towing Simulator for that title, I don't think Tow Truck Simulator has GoTY in the bag just yet.

Really good games, yes. And yeah, Faces of War is cheap enough to be picked up for free due to the blue coins for a lot of people I'm guessing (or at a 40p reduction).
Anyways, one key thing to note is that Men of War is more large scale combat. One of the russian missions for instance has you controlling what feels like a hundred men as you hold off attacking german forces, rather than seeing you control only a handful of men. (An annoyance for me though is that the bodies etc. seem to dissapear after a while, but it's not a big problem)
Anyways, some people might like the focus on larger combat and some might prefer the small scale stuff. There are missions where you only control like 5 or so people though. I prefer Faces and Men of War to Soldiers anyway.
Edit: But I never got far into Soldiers btw. However, from what I've read, the focus was indeed on small scale stuff.

Don't worry, you will have sounds-a-plenty. Awful voice acting, I couldn't finish the demo because my ears were bleeding. But gameplay was solid, as far as I could tell. For that price, I can agree it's worth a try.
