taczillabr: Telltale Games:
Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People $5, and others. It's a Comic-Con sale.

Anyone know why the discount isn't being applied? Is there a coupon code I need to enter or is the site just slow to update / glitching out?

lowyhong: Is it worth it to buy UFO Extraterresterials on Gamersgate for USD4.97, or to wait for Gamersgate to get the Gold edition (if it ever comes)? Does the Gold edition make a huge difference in gameplay?

I want to know this too.
I'm also waiting to get the gold edition, hopefully GOG gets it. (Guess the problem is the regular price, it's still $19.99 on steam).
GOLD version versus the original UFO, from here: http://ufo.ufo-extraterrestrials.com/
+ Map in missions
+ Combat log
+ Bunch of new items to research and produce (proximity grenades, personal, shields, jetpacks)
+ Added possibility
to hire soldiers
+ Globe UFO swarms
+ Configurability

It's working for me, I added two games to the cart and they get discount there. No codes. Try clearing your cache.

mystral: All in all, it may make for different gameplay from turn-based games, but not different enough to refuse to play the games imho.
Still, it's your choice, but you might be missing out on games you'd really like.

Ah, I didn't want to say the RTS games with pause-mode are bad our not good as turn-based. The games are very good, especially for turn-based lovers or slow-paced players. But for me there is still a different feeling while playing. As example, if the automatic pause starts, my first question would be what the heck did I miss. Situations like this you can't find in turn-based games.
So, if you liike turn-based games, you will most likely also enjoy these games.

I am on the same boat. I like the games but they are just not as good as they could be, ie turn based. If you are going to have to constantly pause the game, you might as well make it turn based. The same fun, none the frustration.
For me the only game in the series that is playable even when things get ugly is Rome. I would LOVE to have a turn based option.

They're making a prequel. So it would probably be best to wait for that if you don't think Extraterrestrials is worth getting now.
Gamer's Gate has Neverwinter Nights 2 Gold for sale with a 50-80% loyalty discount. The base price in the US is $30, and I'm a GG newbie, so I get the 50% discount.
Hmm, it doesn't list SecuROM as copy protection (like the disc version has in the US), but it does list Internet connection required. Does anyone know if this is some kind of UBIdrm scheme? I do remember that some of the original NWN modules from Diamond edition required online authentication to play - anyone know if this is similar?
NWN2 used Securom, but not Activation-Model Securom. In other words, it used the same damned Securom that people were okay with until Spore/MEPC made them think that all their games retroactively had activation limits :p
To my knowledge, the only official thing NWN2 related that needed an activation was the premium module from the guys who did Darkness over Daggerford (yay, Alazander :p). And that isn't included, from what I can tell.
So I imagine that it is just listing that because the multiplayer requires an internet connection.

The DRM was patched out of the retail version so I don't see any reason you couldn't use a retail patch to remove the DRM in the GG version. But no, it won't be UbiDRM.
Just saw Majesty Gold for $5 on GG, too...tempted to buy it, anybody knows the game's compatibility with newer OS/hardware?

I'm looking at the product's page right now and it says: "DRM: See bundled products below". Below that is says that NWN2 has SecuROM but it doesn't list anything for the expansion pack. It most likely means that it has activation model SecuROM for the base game and nothing for the expansion. GG will refund your activations if you ever run out and as Navagon says if the retail patch works for this game then you will get rid of SecuROM.

It definitely works with WinXP, not sure about Vista or 7.

Gundato, I respectfully disagree. I had a version of NWN2 that had a two activation limit. It crapped out after I installed it in Windows, Wine, then on the Crossover Wine install ('cause it didn't work in Wine), it crapped out. Atari acted horrified that I'd hit the limit so quickly, less than a week after the release, and refused to give me even one more install. Granted, it was build 791 or something like that, and I expected bugs. I did not expect an activation limit. Still a bit angry I have a box & useless discs on my shelf. It's a reminder never to do that again.

In which case just install the DRM-removing retail patch for the game. My copy doesn't need the disc even.
Any Black stars in Gamersgate willing to gift me NWN2? Will pay back via paypal.

Wow. Maybe certain versions had activations?
