So, how is Necrovision: Lost Company? I'm digging Necrovision pretty hard right now, and I'm considering ruthlessly exploiting the Gamersgate sale to get the second one.

Essentially it's more of the same. You do get to drive tanks and pilot biplanes though. Both of which are pretty well handled. If you liked the first then you'll like that one too. The latter part of the game did feel a bit rushed to me though. Which is a shame as I felt the first game got better as it went on.
I'll point out that it's about half that price on GreenManGaming. But you need their Steam-like client to download and the games require secuROM authentication every few days. The fact that the games are so tied to their service and their service is still brand new it might be off putting, even at that price.

Er... yuck. That's more DRM than I'm willing to deal with. I guess it's justifiable given their resale policy, but I'm not really interested in trying to sell back a $4 game. I'd rather just keep it.
Necrovision is way underrated, if you ask me. I haven't finished it yet (I'm on level 7 or 8), but it's easily the most fun I've had with a pure shooter in a long time.

It's a bit much for a fledgling service, which is probably why no other DD service has tried trade ins yet. I got Lost Company from them when they were selling it for 1 penny during their introductory sale.
The DRM isn't too problematic if you've got a good connection, but the client really is rough and featureless at the moment. It actually shows all the things that Steam is doing right by comparison.
I would almost say that it would have been better if they'd made the client required when playing a game (like Steam) instead of the secuROM. But the client is so bad I don't know if that's a good idea. It has only just reached the point where it will remember login details. Before you needed to input them each time. They've got some rapid improvements to make if they want to stay viable.

Agreed completely. It's a very underrated game. Which isn't helped by the fact that it's quite a slow starter. Only the reviewers that gave it the necessary time realised how good it could be.

Well you should:
A PERMANENT HIGH SPEED INTERNET CONNECTION AND CREATION OF A UBISOFT ACCOUNT ARE REQUIRED TO PLAY THIS VIDEO GAME AT ALL TIMES AND TO UNLOCK EXCLUSIVE CONTENT. SUCH CONTENT MAY ONLY BE UNLOCKED ONE SINGLE TIME WITH A UNIQUE KEY. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 13 TO CREATE A UBISOFT ACCOUNT WITHOUT PARENTAL CONSENT. I feel dirty just reading that (they should add bold, italic, underline and flashing to it so everyone knows to avoid it like plague). Oh and it's NA only RotW (Rest of the World) need not bother anyway.

Heck, that's not even a rental! That's a time-limited license. You don't own that game any longer than they tell you that you own it. So, I *might* be inclined to pay $0.50. Maybe a $1 if it's really-ground-breakingly awesome - given I might have enough time to finish it before they yank the rug from me. Talk about devaluing your product. Even If the game is an A-List $60 game, removing $59 worth of value via DRM really makes me not interested in finding out if it is. If it is worth something, the DRM can be removed, like in the Unreal Tournament games. If not, it's not worth having.

Meh. I'll wait till it's around $4.99 to $9.99 on GamersGate, at least then it there's a problem with the DRM they'll do something about it (probably issue a refund).
Still, I have to thank Ubisoft. Since they started using that DRM, I've saved a fair bit of money but no longer spending it on their games =D
Drawn the Painted Tower is $2.99 on Big Fish as the daily deal for today and is available for all. Use the coupon code "DAILY DEAL". At that price, I highly recommend it. It's a wonderful "lite" adventure.

My thinking too. If not for their stupid DRM plot, I would have bought Silent Hunter 5 the day it was released. Thankfully I didn't and saved myself from buying a bad game.
Also, lots of money since then. I don't care how cheap they are, I am not going to buy a game with that DRM.
