Thanks, Dristvaan - you're right. Cars & explosions seem like fun. Plus I enjoy burnout paradise. Just not so much all the nagging to get an online account. As for Torchlight, they said it looked like Diablo (which I'm partial to), and it seems to have a big fan following. Won't go for it when it becomes an MMO, though. I can barely make my social commitments IRL, much less online.
As for Shatter (got that too - forgot to mention), I'm a sucker for breakout type games. Used to hate them as a kid. But then I played Arkanoid II in the arcade. This looks similar to that, so I decided to give it a go.

If you liked Diablo, Torchlight is an *excellent* choice; I say that from experience. It gives you that good ol' pure hack-and-slash feeling. Plus, although there's no official "nightmare" and "hell" difficulties, there's an infinite dungeon with enemies always scaled to your level which opens after you beat the big boss.
I also won't get the MMO, those're just not my type of game, but I'm very pleased with Torchlight.

For Flatout Ultimate Carnage it is the same game but graphics are better and infected with GFWL disease.
I bought 2 games from Gamesplanet one Metro 2033 and second Just Cause 2. I activated the games on Steam. But after the first purchase you must wait for 4 hours or so for verification process (I don't know what that is but it is happening). But other purchases you can get your game immediately. It is a service from Metaboli so it is trusted shop.

The reason I have yet to purchase Torchlight is that its fans seem to be split on whether it's the spiritual successor to Diablo 1, or the spiritual successor to Fate.
I liked Diablo 1 quite a lot. I did not like Fate very much at all.

Well it's a shame that's not possible with Alpha Prime. But seeing as Gamesplanet doesn't seem to require a client of its own that might not be a problem.

There is not much difference but big enough to buy the game for this price. I paid the full price for the game back then and I did not regret at all.

So some new cars, new tracks changes to the opponent AI? That kind of thing?

Sadly, no new tracks but the graphics are much better and more realistic. I can't really compare the AI since I don't pay much attention to this in a racing game but in overall I like Ultimate Challenge much more than Flatout2.

Pretty much. I bought it ages ago because I skipped the second one entirely. If you already have the second one, this is only worth getting if you're not to bothered about spending the money.

There are some new game modes, the music and graphics are totally new and I think it has also a few new cars. Someone also said that it has some new tracks too, but I am not sure about that.
Basicly it's the consol version of Flatout 2 and got only released for the PC by popular demand. But it still worth the money.

I was never crazy about 1 or 2, so I can't say I am dying to get a remake, even for a couple of euros.

From other sites & comments I've heard it is basically a repackaged version of Flatout 2 with spiffyfied graphics and a consolified interface.
Okay, that's not good. Of course, all PC diseases can be cured, just takes some time/energy.
