Might as well wait for World, which is free and has only online MP if I understand correctly.
I got Undercover via way of gifting around the regional restriction. Been having a blast with it. But then, I couldn't care less about the multiplayer, I just like winding the police up =)

Very few prices differ in Japan to the US on Steam. And as far as I know, only Kalypso Media games are priced higher in Japan then the US on Impulse (although until recently, it's been hard for me to track their pricing).
The problem for us is not so much the digital distribution pricing of games here, it's the fact that we can't buy most of them.
When you can find PC games retail here though, they are sold at what's termed an "open price"; basically the publisher doesn't even bother setting a price which allows the stores to charge whatever they want. Which tends to be in the region of 80 to 100 USD per game.
Undercover for example, can be purchased here via the EA store (or retail if you're lucky to find a store stocking PC games and which happens to have it ) for around $73.

Hmm, sounds like they are taking the Nadeo/TrackMania approach - give base game away for free, then charge for extras/DLC. If you haven't tried TrackMania, I recommend it. It is less free form racing and more start to finish track racing, although some of the tracks are a bit 'tricky' to say the least. Physics in the game is top-notch, also. It is pretty playable from the keyboard - driving wheel/pedals not required.
I found out about it via the open source game ManiaDrive, which I found about while testing UltimateStunts, itself a clone of Br0derbund's Stunts.

It's all a complete mess.

Spore: 33% off
Sale Price: $26.79
Dead Space: 50% off
Sale Price $9.99
Mirror's Edge: 75% off

Make note that Pure Time Trials DLC ($9.99 from ea store) is not compatible with steam version of Mirror's Edge.

EA Support is saying Steam version is compatible. I asked them twice and they said it is compatible.
I'd be wary of anything EA support says. Over on the Dragon Age boards, despite the fact Windows 7 is listed on the Dragon Age box under both the System Requirements and the Recommended Specs, EA support will tell you Windows 7 is not officially supported if you're having issues on that platform.
