bansama: Ah, would be wonderful to see the fallout from that. But I bet Valve would simply refuse to sell it =(

Maybe Nintendo can be persuaded to release the next Metroid game on the PC IP blocked only for activation in Japan. Oh the funneh.

Nintendo never copes with PC. Call me one PC game by Nintendo, and no, not that Mario face prog.
I'm well aware Nintendo regard the PC in the same way one of us would regard an STD. I'm just making the point that the only way the US would ever feel the way the rest of the world do is if one of the Japanese giants were to say "no game for you" to them. There would be an almighty shitstorm.

I'd be fine with waiting however long - I already do for the console games that originate in Japan, but if it wasn't available for purchase anywhere in the US at any time, well, I wouldn't feel bad at all about pirating it.
Jeez guys, I don't like that you are region restricted, but you don't have to wish the same for me.

Not exactly wishing it on you. But it was a rather unpleasant thought wasn't it?

Delixe: It's why a lot of people are starting to get tired of Wardell complaining about the Steam monopoly when Impulse make absolutely no attempt to fight it. Wardell seems to think he is entitled to challenge Valve despite the fact Impulse offer nothing in competiton.

No wonder ... Brad proceeds to claim impulse is number 2 after steam, which is clearly nonsense considering they are making little or no attempt to deal with folks outside North America.
[the article is somewhat interesting about the region price issue however - assuming of course Brad is telling the truth]

They did that for Front Mission 5, pissed me off endlessly because I used to love those games so much. FM3 has to be my favorite for long campaign with tons of parts and weapon types, FM4 has best overall style graphics and smooth gameplay. FM5 was supposedly better but I never got it.

Yes it is. I feel bad for you guys. We're lucky here in the US that we have pretty easy access to most every game we want. There are lots of Japanese shmups and rpgs I'd like to play that never get localized in the US, but I otherwise don't have many problems with availability.
Back on topic please? There's a thread for bitching about this stuff.

Because it's a day ending in Y, King's Bounty: Armored Princess is on sale on Gamersgate, along with The Guild 2: Platinum. Both games are 50-80% off depending on your membership level (which is based on how much you've bought from / contributed to the site in the past).

Good luck keeping people confined to that -- it's pretty obvious there are a couple of guys whose only interest is bitching about regional restrictions and/or bashing Steam/Impulse, etc. Funniest part is its the developers/publishers they need to be complaining to -- oh well, wouldn't want to deprive people of their little pet peeves otherwise they have nothing else to post about.
