Gazoinks: Ah, so that must be why the DoubleFine collection was on sale again yesterday. Has anyone played Iron Brigade? How is it?
To be honest, by Double Fine standards not as good as I would have imagined. I guess it is more fun in multiplayer. It gets better as you progress and get more options though. I enjoyed Toy Soldiers (which is somewhat comparable, imo) more so far.

I will play through it once, just for the kicks and see how it goes.

JMich: The above link doesn't work for me, but http://store.steampowered.com/sub/4829/ does. Seems like there are 2 (or more) packs for The Guild 2...
Probably regional restrictions, or difference prices.
EA's Origin store (Australia only for now) is supposedly having a 50% off pretty much everything sale:
http://games.on.net/2012/08/massive-sale-on-origin-50-off-just-about-everything/
Dawn of War II Complete is really tempting for £10.18 (it's a bid cheaper on GG.co.uk)
(and esp. with the IGN discount)
http://www.gamersgate.co.uk/DDB-DOW2C/warhammer-40k-dawn-of-war-2-retribution-complete-pack-bundle?caff=1869351

But I actually don't need it right now, lots of massive (40hrs+) games on my backlist already . Though I liked the demo a lot.
Wait or Now?

It's a very good game, well worth this price. Just to tempt you more. :P

Contrary to this opinion, I didn't like it. It just didn't quite feel right to me.

Though I never realized it had a co-op campaign. That's pretty awesome.

Tried to play the co-op campaign in Retribution, and it was not fun. It is the single player campaign, but you split the available units between the players, which means that each individual player gets very few units to play with.

DoW 2 is a multiplayer game. The campaign was a bit lackluster (far too repetitive & easy, even on the harder difficulties), but when playing with/against friends, it is quite fun.

Ah, yeah, see, I demo'd it, and only tried the campaign/single-player part. It just wasn't fun for me. I'm pretty sure I also remember some units being locked into squads that could only be controlled as a whole, which is really counter-intuitive for a tactical game.
Greed: Black Border is free, over at Greenman Gaming.

And as for Gamer's gate, today's deals are:
Gratuitous Space Battles Complete Pack, 66% off.
Dawn of War 2 Retribution, complete pack, 66% off
Wargame European escalation, 50% off.
Heroes of Might & Magic 6 (or Might & Magic heroes 6 or whatever they want to call it), Deluxe edition, 50% off. Warning: Ubisoft DRM.

Yes but this way it's more playable and fun for the more action-oriented / FPS player, like me. In DoW2 or the likes of Multiwinia or Syndicate (93) this is the highest amount of 'RTS' I can / care to handle. The 'use what you have and make the best out of it"-attitude appeals to me more than micro management ;D
