korell: Yes, indeed. I have mixed opinions on the flashlight. On the one hand, they wanted the game to be dark, for you not to see everything so that you'd get monsters jumping out at you. But on the other hand it was modded on day 1 to add in the flashlight. I don't know whether or not it is a good thing.

Oh, I also read that they are putting more ammo in the game as a response to complaints about the game.
I personally played without it as I could usually see where I was going, and the areas in which I couldn't were sparse/short.

And MORE ammo.....seriously? Are people spraying their weapons at the walls at random or something?

More ammo and faster player speed. Going for horror-action rather than horror-survival they say.

When was Doom 3 a horror survival game?

Don't try to change history.

Doom 3 was always a full action game, a FPS game with some horror elements.
It was never a horror survival game.

Where it is understandable for you (as a gamer) to make any such comment, he is obviously an idiot.
Thanks for the info.

It's not the first time that id have displayed ignorance about their own games. I saw some pretty unbelievable examples on their own site.

The daily deal on steam is flatout franchise for 7.99€. And if you already own any of the previous games you get a giftable copy of that game. Pretty sweat deal if you ask me. It's a shame i got no cash to spend right now :S
avatar
Hesusio: I just found a real humdinger of a deal. If you have an iPhone, download "The Heist" right now. It's currently a free app and beating the game will net you Steam keys for Eets, World of Goo and Puzzle Agent. You'll not find a better deal anywhere else.
avatar
BoxOfSnoo: I'm not sure if they still have World of Goo licenses, do they? There were only a limited amount.
The do. I just grabbed a copy ten seconds ago.
Upcoming Amazon digital deals . :)

1. 8/12-8/18 - Iron Cross: Rise of Flight Edition - $9.99 - Not Steam
2. 8/12-8/18 - The 11 DotEmu games we carry - $9.99 - DRM Free
3. 8/17-8/19 - The Secret World - $24.99
4. As soon as we get it live - Guild Wars Platinum (Guild Wars + Eye of the North): $19.99 + $5 credit towards Guild Wars 2 Pre-Order
5. I am expecting to hear back from Paradox tomorrow on updates for Deal of the Week/Labor Day Sale
6. EA,Take 2 (Rockstar+2K), THQ, Nordic Games, Ubisoft all have amazing line ups for the Labor Day. I will share full details as we finalize timing.
7. I'm working on 2 - 25 game bundles from Strategy First for $12.49 each, some of the games will have Steam codes, others will not.
8. Many of you have asked about the 1C promotions and where we're at. We will likely run a bundle of all of their games for between $12.49-$14.99, I am awaiting confirmation on pricing, additionally we will be offering both DRM free and Steam keys where applicable/available on their titles. Again, still working to get all of these assets/final confirmation.
9. Many of you have asked about the return of the THQ/Square Enix bundles. I am working on this but have 0 firm updates at this point. THQ looks promising, Square does not.
10. We'll see the return of the Serious Sam promotion soon at 75% off the individual games. I'm pushing for a bundle and 80% off the 4-packs again, but I have not received confirmation on this, only the 75% off the individual games.
11. We haven't had a "suggest your own bundle" conversation in a while. If anyone is interested in doing this I'm happy to discuss and pitch your thoughts to vendors. I'd love to look at some of the guys that we don't promote all the time as well to get your thoughts, but am happy to take any input. Again, this is voluntary and I can't guarantee that we'll be able to run them, but if we talk about some and I think there is a chance we'll be able to run them, I'll pitch them . Let me know.
12. Shrowd asked about a discount on BL2, we've got it at 10% off currently, including the already 4 for 3 priced 4 pack and we distributed another 10% off code to everyone who had ever purchased Borderlands GOTY from us digitally. That's the only current plan for BL2 promotions.

Er yeah, ammo was not scarce...

I mean you knew after the first hour or two exactly where the hidden monster closets would be, you could instantly get a bead on them bastards and off them without wasting a shot. I don't remember any real ammo problem except maybe in the Hell part where I wished I had a bit more for certain weapons.

I did play with the Duct Tape mod, it made the game way more playable imo.
