AFnord: *imagines them trying to pull off "GameStop" and sell the pack for 130€*
(yes, the local GameStop has tried to sell "pack deals" for more than the price of the individual games...)
I'd expect that a new pack would be accompanied with a lowering of the base games prices (considering Spore's meager reception), and an overdue lowering of the EU price of Darkspore to the same as the US price (1$=1€ no doubt)

I'd be all over the Spore complete pack if I had a friend in the Ukraine (it's only $6 for them -- when the items are purchased individually), but as it's not available here and I already own it from the EA store (long before they became Origin), I'm not really interested in paying over $15 for a gift from the US, etc. As all I'd want it for is to eliminate the need to use a pirate copy to install the damn thing and to avoid having to mess around with the system locale to patch it.

Why EA insist on using unicode characters in install paths is beyond me, but it fscks up the install/patching process on Japanese OSes every damn time.

</semi off topic rant>

Edit -- Just as say that, my copy of Spore fscks up again. So I guess I will be looking for a gift from the US after all. Anything to avoid the annoyance of trying to reinstall the EA Store bought version again =/

Well, if you ever need something and it's not regionally restricted and/or doesn't have only local set of languages, I might be able to help you.

AzureKite: Snip
Too late for this instance, but I'll bear that in mind in the future.

Of course true EA form, while the Steam version fixes ALL of the installation/patching issues I had, Galactic Adventures refuses to show up on Spore.com as owned (having created a new ID for the Steam version) and even using my original log in details, refuses to stay logged in. EA support, were even less useful than the last time I contacted them. Compared to the current EA support, Steam support is the best support in the world.

So a bit of a bitter sweet victory =S

If you are interested in PBEM, stay away. There is no password protection system for the files, no security whatsoever, and several glitches and bugs which makes PBEM game a bad bad idea.

At least that was the case till last year the last time we tried it.
