You should be able to run all of these on any modern computer. Since all of them are now open source, they all have pretty nice source ports that let you add eye candy to the releases and fix any potential stability issues that may arise on any rig. IMO, it's worth it to get all of them if you don't already have them. They're fun games and they're a fundamental part of FPS history.

They all work quite flawlessly. Quake comes with GLQuake already as an option, which helps a lot.

Kaidane: Got this from Telltale Games via e-mail:
G7E-TP9-5B3-6MJ
Get the full TOMI season for $14.95 (expires on April 3rd).
I'm assuming that it can only be used once, but I have no idea.

I got a similar e-mail, but with a different number.

PoSSeSSeDCoW: Midweek deal on Steam is 50% off of the Quake games.

Just know this, Quake 1 and Quake 2 have no soundtracks (musics). Because of this I am not buying them from Steam. I have retail versions BTW.

What's the point in playing Quake without the Trent Reznor score? None, that's what.

Is this because of music licensing problems, or is it just another example of Steam's treatment (or the lack of) to old games?

Nope, It is just id Software's laziness. They could make sountracks as *.mp3 or *.ogg files and add to games just like Valve did for Steam versions of Half-Life and expansions packs.
Hilarious, Quake 1 and 2 are restricted in Germany.
FUCK YOU STEAM

Probably, people forget that with steam its up to publishers to get their shit together. That's one of the main reasons I have started buying almost any weekend sale item from GOG is their care and attention to the product.

It could be a German ban on the games. I don't know what the German government is like now, but back then they were pretty harsh on violent content.

Our government is pretty far from reality(an coalition of old conservatives and neoliberals), corrupted and especially putting money in the ass of high ranked. Oh, and they forbid the release of God of War since 2004. The ban was just lifted last year.

Well it could be that then. Steam can't really sell games to regions those games are outlawed in.
I bet if the German government could blame Hitler and the SS on video games, they would.
