Can Tropico 4 be activated on Steam?
From what I have read on their forums - no it cannot be activated but people posting there may be wrong no one from staff commented
nvm.
Firaxis seems to have most of their titles 66% off at GG. I like the prices on Civs but then always remind myself that I'm not that much of a fan and FreeCiv has been enough so far. :(

Has anyone seen a deal on Magic the Gathering 2012? Steam has the complete pack for $25 but I can't even see it for sale anywhere else. I'd like to get it for around $15. Thanks for any help.

Wasn't it on sale earlier this week?

And why bother getting the DLC for it? Most of it are just card reskins.
I just looked over the Impulse Xmas sales list and its just terrible. Most of the discounts are only 50% off. They will have to do much better if they want to compete with Steam and GG.

Your killing me with this only 50% off is terrible nonsense.

Technically it's on sale right now but the discount is only 33%. I was looking for a 66-75% of sale somewhere.

I don't understand your point about the DL content. I've never played the game, If you could explain, please.

Regarding the Total War series, which one would be good to pick up for a newbie to the series? Are all the games Steamworks?

I believe he's saying that the DLC doesn't give you additional content, but just changes the appearance of your playing cards.

Of course if Foxhack is familiar with card collecting or even collecting in general, it's that collectors want to collect them all even if they're basically the same. Same thing with action figures that have paint variants. Same figure, but collectors want the base figure and every variant just the same.

Okay.

The "Foil Conversion" DLC makes the cards shiny. That's it! You pay money to make the cards shiny! Though it is better to buy the complete bundle than the individual DLCs. I guess.

This game is a ripoff. Not nearly as bad as Railworks 3, but dammit, it's getting there.

It depends, let's take Arkham City, 50% off isn't that great of a deal... because it's been 50% off everywhere already about 3 times in the last month. It's base price hasn't gone down, therefor it's had the exact same sale price. Anyone willing to pull the trigger at the price probably already did.

Now, 50% by itself isn't a bad or a good discount. But when you check the sale price some games at "50% off" aren't all that great of a deal. They've been out a few months and their normal price will meet or beat that price in a couple more.

50% off a 5 or 10 USD game that likely won't be going a lot cheaper even in the next year or two, is a good deal, generally. But you have to consider whether you'll be able to pick it up as part of an indie bundle or other pack for a lot less. So again, neither good nor bad, depends on the buyer, the game, and what the base price is.
