Lou: I am playing the demo on Steam - Trying to hold off on Purchasing anything till I see how these types of titles make their way here.
Fred_DM: didn't the guy from Spiderweb go on about how indie games should also be priced as high as any other game? i think Valve had to pressure him to offer his games at a lower price on Steam, and rightfully so, IMO.
doesn't really sound like the kind of guy who'd go for a 5.99 or even 9.99 price point...
He's been around for ages and he's still putting out new games, so his pricing must be working well enough for his needs.

DodoGeo: Yeah, I remember when games were stuff of great imagination and just having fun fighting wizards, dragons, aliens in SF or fantasy worlds.
Now we have genres dedicated to boring everyday lives: Train sim, Farming sim or Street Cleaning sim.
The MOO genre might be worse, but at least those games trick you into doing chores.
edit: For a complete edition costing more then 1200euros it's the most unbeatable fun/cost ratio ever.
It's like a train wreck, you just can't look away.
Model trains go back a lot longer than computers. This is just an extension of the hobby. Maybe they'd get more sales at lower prices, or maybe there aren't enough enthusiasts to keep the train modeling going without the high cost. It's a niche project, so I don't lose sleep over how they handle pricing.
