wodmarach: new humble... single game

Underwhelming with only a single game, but I hope they'll add at least one more game to the bundle!

Honestly, I don't get the impression this is supposed to be a bundle. As far as I can tell this is simply a PWYW alpha fund. It's called the Humble Voxatron Debut not the Humble Voxatron Bundle.

Except for the humblebundle URL :)
Still, the game is worth a shot. Doesn't give off the usual alpha feel of debug console crapping error reports all over you while everything freezes.

Anyone have some impresions of the adventure games on the Steam sale? I'm on the fence currently about Dracula: Origin, Dark Fall: Lost Souls, etc.

You can buy Dracula Origin on Big Fish Games for $2.99 , if you use the NEW299 coupon code at the checkout .

Not bad. Creepy. Has substories within the main narrative. Many "figure out the code" puzzles. Good use of sounds to scare the shit out of you and you can't turn the speakers down, because there are a few spots that use audio clues. Graphics are good, however the developer still hasn't figured out the free 360 panning.

Hmm... I sure hope not. A single game is so underwhelming. The game itself looks pretty neat though!

Anyway, I wouldn't rely on the name that much. Humble Bundle has a history of not staying true to the product's name. lol

In fact, the previous Humble sale was called "Humble Frozen Synapse Bundle". It started out with a single game, so "bundle" made no sense. Then, other games asides from Frozen Synapse were added... :)

Crossing my fingers!

Just a heads up, Costume Quest is 67% off, $4.99 on Steam.

Thanks! I would have missed it.

It's a Doubel Finde (Psychonauts) game! I haven't heard of it before, but I expect excellence

If memory serves, it was one of the projects designed when the team had nothing to do.

Yeah you'd think they could have held off for a couple of weeks and bundled this game in with that one. I suppose they get more cash when they break it down like this.

Perhaps. There's actually a screenshot going around saying that a few games might be added including
- Binding of Isaac
- Blocks that Matter

> Edit: to another thing.. Are Zombie shooters better than shadowground? I mean, I played Shadow today (not finished) and it isn't all bad. Quite good if you get past the graphics, bad voiceactors but the game is quite nice.

Shadowground (and the sequel) looks like a fancier version of Alien or Zombie shooter at first glance but it's actually more like a top-down Doom 3. (with a working flashlight)

Alien shooter - run and shoot shoot shoot.
Shadowground - walk, get surprised RUN AWAY RUN AWAY shoot shoot.
I'd say the 'shooter' series games are worse than Shadowgrounds. Frozenbyte is a better, more professional operation across the board. Content wise they're about the same but Shadowgrounds has more polish.

Nah. What Shadowgrounds suffers from is that ... Well ... Basically, you can only get so many opponents on-screen with 3D and pretty effects.

What shooter games do, however, is a lot of sprite-based monsters. And I mean, a lot. As in you can't miss when shooting. IT'S OVERWHELMING! Personally, I liked Zombie shooters and Alien shooters far more because of that - AND slight RPG elements. You just ... Run, shoot, and hope to survive. It's faster, more adrenaline-filled, FAR more hectic and generally it seemed more fun to me compared to ShadowGrounds, which was more polished and optimised, but wasn't as much fun for me.

Eh, IMO, of course.
