I have a feeling we may have an indie bundle with avadon and maybe other Spiderweb games, since he now has steam keys to give away... a popular demand.

gamersgate has a total war sale:
Empire & Napoleon Total War bundle $11.98

Shogun 1 $3.98 (probably comes bundled with compatibility problems, right?)

Shogun 2 $14.98

ne_zavarj: Off topic

but if you own the Gold version of Supreme Commander on GamersGate or Impulse , you can now activate your serial on Steam .
Tested with my Impulse version , worked .

I also tried to activate my CoH Gold on Steam ( Impulse version ) and it activated CoH Beta .
Thank you, I can confirm it, activated my Impulse key into Steam. :)

Shogun 1 keeps crashing under Vista 64 (my main rig) but it runs great on my Windows XP netbook.

I'm interested on Shogun, but how is Shogun 2 compared to the first one?

also shows a listing price of 89.95 which is weird...

i've only recently heard of this series. Looks like imitation of old school Ultima series. Its not a must have for me, so i will wait for an extreme sale of $5 before buying.

DukeNukemForever: Yes, he wrote that on his page and explained why the prices differ so much. There is also a thread here on gog about it, from there I've got that link.
I'll have to keep that link handy for the next time a Valve fanboy on the Steam forums claims that Valve don't have any say in pricing =)

In other news, FEAR 3 can finally be played in Japan on Steam. It only took around 4 months of contacting various staff members and dealing with the shite support to get it this way. But it does mean that people in Japan can now take advantage of any FEAR 3 price cuts on GMG, etc., and play the game in English.

uchos: Yes, you're right. Should have added "and Steam" in the line you quoted. I didn't meant it in any critical way.
As linked by Duke, Valve suggested him a price and he trusted their judgement. Probably Avadon was enough of a 'success' on Steam to reinforce this decision.
Well, I know I purchased it. Which I would never have done at a higher price =)

You mean you had doubts that they suggest pricing for their customers? All that link says is that they suggested the price and he 'went with it', trusting their judgement.

If you want a link where they have a say in pricing you want the email for the Russia currency switch. That's a more direct involvement in pricing than their suggestions, since currency choice from that on was limited to Rubles only.
GG has Medieval2 Gold Total War for $2.50. I've never played a Total War game before, is this a good one to start? It looks pretty good, but i'm always cautious with strategy games, there are alot of bad ones.

That's a great price. I've eyed it many times myself. But it's like 11 gigs to download isn't it? That's a lot.

I've heard really good things about MTW2, and I played the original MTW for years. If you're into modding, some of the mods I've seen are pretty incredible too.

Like Pheace said, he only wrote that he followed a steam suggestion. But that Steam is very restrictive about his catalog there is an article on Cliffkis blog (Positech games). He had no problem to release his other games like Democracy 2 on other plattforms like D2D, gamersgate or Impulse, only steam said it don't fit for distribution.
Damn Total War sale. I want Rome because 1C screwed up the Russian release (and Alexander features "professional voiceovers by actor Brian Blessed"!!!). I want legit Shogun 1. I want Medieval 2. I don't want Securom, but that's fixable.
How bad are Empire + Napoleon?
Damn, I watched videos on naval battles and want those too.

It'd definitely be a good start along with Rome.

Oh I know about both of those. I've also known for several years that Valve "suggest" prices. But you'd be amazed at how people still swear blind that Valve have zero say in the pricing or availability (both total and regional) of games on Steam, despite comments by developers and publishers to the contrary.

For example, one of the F2P games on Steam right now is restricted to the US/Europe solely because Valve imposed those restrictions.

S2 is more complex, deeper, with more of everything and technically more advanced.
S1 still has a charm and is (as long as it runs on your system) perfectly fine as a game.
If I had to choose between them I would choose S2, but I wouldn't feel bad about getting S1.
GameStop / Impulse daily deal :
Supreme Commander Gold $6.79
Can be activated on Steam .
