Warband, by far.

I think Warband is best, very good mods for it too. I like With fire and Sword too, it has new things, new setting and story plot. :)

I third Warband as well. Also, Warband is standalone and supercedes/replaces the original M&B game, the only difference being that there are still some mods for the original that haven't been ported over or whatever to Warband, and that you can't play without the original M&B.. and I think possibly a few multiplayer (all mp is skirmish-based) servers that still run under the original. Other than that (and for completeness/supporting the devs) there's absolutely no reason to get the original M&B as opposed to Warband.

As someone who bought into M&B when it was in .751 or so, I feel obligated to finally pick up Fire & Sword. But in all honesty, it doesn't look that good. It's basically just a mod they want people to pay money for, when native M&B (not even Warband) has had mods with guns since way the hell back.

But it's less then four dollars. Hard to say no at that price.
I hope there will be a Paradox sale on GamersGate in the next week .

I have one word for you, as a fellow alpha (or beta?) M&B player: Eagle and the Radiant Cross

A few friends say it's much the same as With Fire and Sword

I just played about thirty minutes. It's exactly what I expected. A moderately done mod (even has some graphical glitches like any good mod) that they wanted money for.

Dare I say, I've even seen better mods made for M&B then Fire & Sword. It really is just plain ole M&B (not even Warband I believe) with small changes. It's hard to believe they wanted money for it to begin with.

But I bought it more out of wanting to show support for Taleworlds then anything, so I don't mind.

But what amazes me the most is the size. the .exe for the original is close to 300mb...

prakaa:
I remember trying out Eagle & Radiant Cross. It's pretty much the same.

The main selling point of Fire & Sword is guns, which were programmed into the M&B code way back, and mods have always had the capability of using them. So to anyone hard into the M&B scene, the game offers little to nothing to justify purchase. Not that it's bad, but you can just get M&B or Warband and mod it to get the same result.
GamersGate :

Dead Space $7.98
Dead Space 2 $19.98
