yettenet: Disagreed. I managed to activate it from the EU with no problems at all.

Tizzysawr: I was given a US key from a friend from France because he couldn't activate it -- It was region locked. I couldn't activate it either, so I had to give it to a friend in the US who could actually use it.

My friend in France had used a proxy to go around the regional restriction the store had, and it is widely known US versions of Civ V are locked to the US. It is always possible that store is selling an international key, my post was meant to warn people from going around possible region locks to get the game.
Oh, I see. Well, I did not know about that (and luckily, it's not the case with this one either). Thank you for the info.

I grabbed ArmA 1 Gold, DRM Free for $5. Now to wait a few years till ArmA II loses its DRM.

Is Arma Cold War really just Operation Flashpoint, optimised for modern systems? I really loved OPF....

It is OFP, don;t know about optimizations.
Oh, a working CD key for OFP seems to entitle the user for a free Arma CWA update.

Hmmm, it seems that Bohemia already removed DRM from ArmA 2... but the gamersgate version in an arse to patch.

reaver894: do they actually ship within the UK? I know they are based here but I thought they just exported

Edit, just tried to make an account with them and UK isnt an option
avatar
brother-eros: damn, sorry, because they were base in uk I assumed they shipped there as well. :(
Yeah its rather odd, i mailed them to check and def only aus and nz. Worth a shot though
I know Cold War Assault may come to GOG anytime between the EA batches, but at that price it's rather hard to resist. The "Other DRM" bothers me though. Does anyone know what is it?

Any opinions on Sword of the Stars and Crusader Kings? Both appeal to me as a strategy gamer, but the RTS battles in SOTS kind of worries me.

nagytow: Forgot about stupid PP fees.
FYI, there's one option for sending money ("Gift" maybe?) that shouldn't take a fee. We had to use that for my fantasy football league.
