Why not just get if from Greenman Gaming? You can use a voucher to get 20% discount and I believe you'd be paying in $ which is cheaper.

They use regional pricing too -> €uros again. With 20% off voucher it's the same price as if I pay with £ on Gamersgate (without any discount, but I will get some Bluecoins back).

If you talk to steam support they might give you a refund. Or you can try to buy goty version and then hope to get a regular as a gift you can send someone.

it was bought a long time back so i doubt they would refund, anyways i had my fun with the game, will probably try to get the goty for my ps3 instead

Also, if you have the base game, you can buy a DLC 4-pack for ($7.50 - cost of GOTY), but one or more of those has SecuROM also.

I'm not sure. I know the original boxed release had pretty much no copy protection at all, but the DLCs did have 3 install limits. In the GOTY, I'm not sure if its the DLCs or the whole package with it.
