hmm did they improve the game in the expansion ? or is it just good story wise?

A story not unlike Planescape in style and there were several improvements and new classes/skills. I'm not going to pretend the game was fixed but it was sufficiently improved for people to play it and rate it as one of the best RPG's of all time.

I had a lot of fun with Storm of Zehir. Don't really see what some people's issue is with the game.

It's largely regarded as the worst Black Box made NFS game. You will probably get a lot of fun out of it for $5 but it's nothing compared to Shift or Hot Pursuit.

Probably not as Steam doesn't display a CD key for it.

from what I've seen Shift is *really* not my thing. I liked the series for the Arcady-ness, not the Simulation. I'd prefer to skip straight to Hot Pursuit I think, that looked pretty sweet, but the price level doesn't seem right yet so I'll probably hope for a better sale around Summer.
