michaelleung: That is pathetic. Got it gifted, or bought it on Gamersgate?

No point getting it gifted on Steam, it won't unlock until Valve decide Japan is allowed to play it. So naturally, I took my custom to GamersGate and have been playing it since September 18.
@taczillabr: There basically is no PC market here because the local publishers don't want it. Capcom, et. al. despise the PC (and especially DD). But for what it's worth, I really enjoy RFG and felt the price I paid for the pack was well worth it.

lackoo1111: Elven Legacy $21.54

Don't buy that on Impulse if that's what they're charging (in fact, here it's still listed as $29.99 and it's supposed to be 50% off!)
So buy it on GamersGate where it *is* 50% off for $14.95 and is void of DRM.
I guess those in the Eurozone may want to check prices on both sites to see which is better.

I will not use GG,because of their stupid € system. And i will pass that deal (EL) on Impulse too.
Need For Speed SHIFT $24.95 D2D
Majesty 2: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim UK D2D £8.95
Just a heads up:
http://frogboy.impulsedriven.net/article/370628/24_Hour_Impulses_The_Concept
There will be a 12 days of Christmas sale on Impulse very similar to D2D's sale but to receive info you will need to have the Impulse tray program running because they won't advertise it in their store page.
They are promising really good deals like the Galactic Civilizations for $1 which was a test for this kind of sale.
Edit: a post from Stardock's CEO on the same topic:
"The deals are only on the tray. And users who don't like the balloons can turn them off (though they'll miss these special deals).
The deals can effectively only be done on the tray because they're extremely targeted in order to get support from the publishers.
So for instance, one application or game might ONLY be available to users in Germany because the publisher of that app was only able to get that price for people in that country."
This means most deals won't apply to me T_T

With basically all of the online competition having a somewhat earlier Christmas sale over multiple days I wonder if Steam will divert from their traditional end of year format.

LordCinnamon: Is Starscape any good? Does anyone know?

Starscape is very fun (there is already a thread on it), but not a lot of replay value. 10 dollars sounds right if you like the genre.
Jesus, that Impulse list is the first weekend sale that could be completely labeled as a 'rerun'.
For those interested in Elven Legacy, keep in mind that the third and final expansion or add on for it just launched. So I dare say we'll see a Complete Edition coming out relatively soon that includes everything. Might be worth waiting.
D2D has Vampire: bloodlines for 9.99. One day only.

Wow, not only do they regionally restrict the deals, but in a way that they hope people won't find out. Impulse have hit yet another low.

Outrage! They are offering great sales based on the deals they can get with certain publishers in certain regions, we must destroy them!

You are overreacting, it is the publisher's fault if they don't want to offer the deals worldwide. What should Stardock do? Stop them from offering any deals at all? They are not being sneaky about the deals, they are trying to advertise them only to those that will benefit from them. People complain a lot when they receive info about discounts not available to their regions so at least this takes care of that.

It's only overreacting if you buy into this idea that the publisher is dictating everything. And I'm sorry, but I find that to be total BS. The sites certainly do have some say in the pricing and and you'd have to be naive to think otherwise.
So what should Stardock do? Work harder at providing a better all round support for customers regardless of geographical location. Oh, and they should stop spouting that lark about the publisher dictating everything. That BS line has gotten very old ;)

How exactly does Stardock benefit from this supposed tactic?
