gyokzoli: Great! Now I learned that Hungary is not in Europe.
You learn new things every day, don't you? Especially about the strange geographical notions of some companies.
Maybe you should send them a world map.

Not sure the gringo and canuck comment is really appropriate, but whatever...

Anywho, if you use the promo code: "survey2010" it will bring the total to $4.49, which is way too good of a deal to pass up, even though I don't really like Impulse.

It is just one of those things that is touchy to some people. Personally it doesn't bother me, but I can't stand the double standard of it, so I don't bother with those style of nicknames. I mean, if I referred to the Mexican who posted initially as a "spick" or "spic", I could potentially catch hell for it regardless of if it was meant in good humor or derogatory, so it is one of those things I feel is best avoided.

Those people need to stay off the internet and preferably away from civilization in general. Harmless fun at a race is fine, political correctness has gone mad when a mexican can't call an American a gringo.

I don't have an opinion on gringo but how is canuck inappropriate? We canadians use that term all the time. We like being called that by non canadians as well. Heck one of our hockey teams is called the Vancouver Canucks. Our most famous skiers were called the crazy canucks.

Alright, 'canuck' may not be considered derogatory or inappropriate by nature, it is all in how it is said. I didn't mean to start a moral debate about the usage of nicknames of people's various nationalities, or to question what was derogatory or not.

Edit: Also, just because there is a team with the name doesn't prove it isn't offensive, just look at the NFL's Washington Redskins.

Yeah, no. Spic is a specifically racial slur, with no other meaning in the contemporary world*. Gringo merely implies foreigner (it can be derogatory, but that's not its primary meaning).

*With the exception of its use in the phrase spic(k) and span, meaning clean. This phrase predates the racial slur, and has no connection to it.
