jesskitten: I believe I saw a few threads on the Steam M&B forums (I'm no longer there to check) of successful Steam activations of retail copies though. But yeah, there's no thread about a direct GG -> Steam thing so no idea on this case in particular. If anyone happens to have M&B on GamersGate, whether you plan to activate it on Steam or never do so, you could probably solve it by saying if your key is in a 4x4 or 5x5 format. :P
I have the GG version and it does not activate on steam.

Ah well, that sucks, I just grabbed it from d2d, and I can't register it. Now I guess I am stuck with a slightly previous version than I could have grabbed from GG. For anyone else, Warband does NOT register thru Steam if purchased from D2D (I believe the above link is just for the original).

Ah, ugh. :( How weird, sorry.

You can still register it on the main website though at least, I think, but yeah. Ugh!

I'm a bit miffed because I payed roughly thirty for the original Mount & Blade only to go online the day I got it to see that there was an update called 'Warband.'

I just decided to be happy with the original, however, because the update tends to be more system heavy.

You can always download the latest version of warband from the developers homepage and then activate it with your key.

I bought M&B in beta, by the time Warband came out I had literally played the original to death.So much so, that one hit from my character would kill..

No, i mean someone complained that he could no register his warband key on steam to get the latest version.

On Gamersgate, the price of the 4th extension for Europa Universalis III ( divine wind ) has been cut by 50% to 9.95 usd.

I'd say this is less essential than Heir to the throne, but still very nice. It introduces a new map ( nicer imo), a new building system (nice, although not essential) and a whole new approach to the Asian powers. The Sengoku Jidai and the Shogunate are now part of the game, as well as the faction politics of The Chinese Empire.

I found the initial price too high, but 9.95 seems right to me.
