Aidenz: What do you mean "beta product"?
New expandalone version coming soon. Actually, said new expansion is probably going to be quite different to Warband, so I don't think lowyhong is accurate (unless he's going to complain about bugs and stuff).

It's still broken. Castle sieges are still ridiculous, the new Lord feature is bothersome, you still get scripting errors on the world map, the battle map functionality is not fantastically helpful, many of the dialogue trees still haven't changed since M&B was in beta, some races are badly balanced, still an empty world, etc etc. I can ramble on, but yeah, I'll just leave it with the summary that Warband is basically a patched version of M&B.

Are you referring to With Fire and Sword? Not sure what you mean when you said that the coming of the new expansion means my statement isn't accurate.

On Topic:

Beamdog weekend sales

Hearts of Iron III - $9.99 (was 50% off)
Victoria 2- $19.99 (50% off)
Mount and Blade: Warband - $7.49 (75% off)
Flatout Ultimate Carnage - $9.99 (50% off)

Off Topic: does anybody know of a place where people post gaming deals without all the jibber jabber? I know of a couple sites that maintain lists, but I'm looking for what would be a moderated or a more focussed thread without the social drivel.

edit: oops, didn't see the previous post about Beamdog, glad that others are now posting their deals.

I thought you were going to complain about Fire & Sword when you made that statement, but as it turns out you were talking about bugs and stuff. I take back that statement.
Thanks for the BeamDog posts, not sure if I will jump on that though, may have to do more research on them, especially their M&B: Warband.

Steam Sale:

Rome: Total War Gold - $2.50
http://store.steampowered.com/app/4760/?snr=1_4_4__100

They also have Rome: Total War complete for 9.99, but it is cheaper to grab Rome: Total War and Alexander separately.
As with everything I post, regional restrictions may apply, see site for details.

No problem, just wanted to clarify.

Gamersgate is having a pre-order discount of 30% on Dead Meets Lead. Trailer here. Ignore the morons commenting on the vid, this looks closer to Alien Shooter than an ARPG.

An ARPG is an action game that uses RPG mechanics (such as an inventory, NPCs & quests) without in any way actually being an RPG itself. To me that's what Alien Shooter is.

Hm ok, but I was thinking more along the lines of Diablo and Torchlight, which seemed to be the cause for concern from the friendly Youtube netizens.

Well you don't think that Diablo is an RPG, do you? It's a hack and slash (action) game with elements commonly used in RPGs for flavour. It doesn't have that which makes an RPG an RPG. Merely the bits that are usually considered part and parcel. And yeah, it goes without saying that Torchlight is the same.
If I have BFBC2 on Steam, can I buy the EA Vietnam for it? And is it worth it?

EDIT: It's basically a toss-up between Magicka or the Vietnam Expansion
