One friend told me.

lackoo1111: I hated the " kill the striders " part .
Interesting fact: That part utilizes an early prototype of the AI Director that the L4D series is well known for. You're being screwed with intentionally!

All you have to do is birth a child on 11/11/11 and name him/her Dovahkiin.
I seriously hope that they're for real about this.

Yes indeed.
Agreed HL2 EP1 was not very Half-Life-ish in it´s essence but I think it was a great dip into the survival horror genre aka L4D.
But I guess most people didn´t like it. I did.
I have got Napoleon Total war for free from: http://www.greenmangaming.com/promo/sega-savings/
after trading Commander Conquest America and AIM2 :), but you can buy it dirt cheap for 7.5 bucks.
/ps: it is Imperial version, come with Imperial DLC

LOS ANGELES, U.S.A. – February 22nd 2011

Since December 20th of last year, the Oddboxx has been available exclusively through the Steam network, featuring the first four critically-acclaimed games from Oddworld Inhabitants; Abe’s Oddysee and Abe’s Exoddus, Munch’s Oddysee and Stranger’s Wrath.

On the week of March 7th 2011, this budget-priced compilation of award-winning classics will finally launch on IGN D2D, Stardock, Amazon, GamersGate and other services to be announced.

To celebrate, there will also be a week-long 50% discounted price sale from the day of release, which will also occur on Steam.
Well I bought Ep 2. Looks like I'll be playing both episodes before playing regular half-life 2. But what the hell. Ep 2 is nearly 9Gb in size? I guess I should download it anyway even though I won't play it for a while knowing I'm at the end of the month and well within my ISP's bandwidth allotment (~22 GB to spare). I don't feel like taking 9Gb of 60gb bandwith at the start of next month and worrying about bandwidth usage.

I just need Half-Life 2 now to complete my custom TF2-less Orange Box.

HL2 is also riddled with bugs after the barely tested update of the game that took place last year. Valve seem to be aware of the problems, they just don't seem to care.

Oh, and @Valve, please don't give me the crappy, generic reply that you are working on the problems, when you clearly are not. Half a year with bugs and crap =/= working on it.

No deal. I have some non standard child names in mind, but they're still a hell of a lot better than Dovahkiin. Any gain now would be offset with paying for shrinks to help deal with all the abuse taken at school.

What do you mean saved money? You would have just bought it march anyway. Don't lie, you know it's true.

Those of us who bought the set right away got 50% off the regular price. The price increased as the Christmas sale went on.

I got Oddboxx for $12.49.
Huh. I'm confused. I've been meaning to play Half-Life 2 for a while (no interest in the original Half-Life at the moment, sorry) so I went ahead and got Episode 2 - I mean, hey, $2, that's just a tad bit more than a coke nowadays. Do I need to wait to play Episode 2 'til I can get Episode 1? Is there a story, and will I spoil it for myself? Even after reading a couple of reviews, all I've gotten is a general impression of "PLAY THIS GAME" and the blatant assumption from every reviewer that I've already played every Half-Life game if I'm even looking at this. I still have no clue if it's dependent on having some clue what went on in the previous games.
