Get every Bethesda game for free! For LIFE!
All you have to do is birth a child on 11/11/11 and name him/her Dovahkiin.
I seriously hope that they're for real about this.

Agreed HL2 EP1 was not very Half-Life-ish in it´s essence but I think it was a great dip into the survival horror genre aka L4D.
But I guess most people didn´t like it. I did.

Well I bought Ep 2. Looks like I'll be playing both episodes before playing regular half-life 2. But what the hell. Ep 2 is nearly 9Gb in size? I guess I should download it anyway even though I won't play it for a while knowing I'm at the end of the month and well within my ISP's bandwidth allotment (~22 GB to spare). I don't feel like taking 9Gb of 60gb bandwith at the start of next month and worrying about bandwidth usage.
I just need Half-Life 2 now to complete my custom TF2-less Orange Box.

Oh, and @Valve, please don't give me the crappy, generic reply that you are working on the problems, when you clearly are not. Half a year with bugs and crap =/= working on it.

Huh. I'm confused. I've been meaning to play Half-Life 2 for a while (no interest in the original Half-Life at the moment, sorry) so I went ahead and got Episode 2 - I mean, hey, $2, that's just a tad bit more than a coke nowadays. Do I need to wait to play Episode 2 'til I can get Episode 1? Is there a story, and will I spoil it for myself? Even after reading a couple of reviews, all I've gotten is a general impression of "PLAY THIS GAME" and the blatant assumption from every reviewer that I've already played every Half-Life game if I'm even looking at this. I still have no clue if it's dependent on having some clue what went on in the previous games.
