Are people mad? I just smelt what I can and delete the rest. I honestly don't get why everyone is so obsessed with hats. It's just cosmetics, not to mention that you can't even see it. Paying $100 so that someone else can see something on my virtual head is just insane.

It's kind of like Nike I guess. And the economy kind of came to be when they started selling hats for cash, and keys for crates. And especially the rarity of the unusuals, which is stuff some people are simply willing to pay a lot for to have.

then after that the economy has become self perpetuating I think, since people started trading together the market kind of grew on it's own, people also buy from others hoping to make a profit, which creates a market of itself. Now it's a lot of people buying and selling and some consumers here and there buying keys to get hats being sold by people in game, or to hope for that unusual when uncrating etc.

In that economy a currency is needed and that's what limited items are being used for. Max heads, Earbuds, Bill's Hats being the most common. Since the trade limit is 8 items, yet these days, some items are considered worth vastly more. So then people trade for items worth more, so you can easier trade for items of higher value etc etc xD

Even funnier, these tend to be the same people who are so vocally opposed to DLC as devs use it to "nickle and dime" you!
Please leave this thread for deal talk, it really isn't that hard to STFU if you aren't posting about deals. Don't apologize, don't rationalize, don't excuse, just learn, grow and move on.

Beamdog offers the chance to win games if you retweet some of their posts.

Currently available to win are:

The Golden Horde
A Farewell to Dragons
MDK2

Note: I'm rationalizing myself by posting a deal within a post about telling people to not make posts that aren't about deals. But ... at least I know I'm an a-hat. I don't think some other people realize that they are one also (this is also a rationalization).

Please down mod all non-deal posts.
I posted it so people A) realize they may have extra money even though they do not realize it B) So they don't get scammed out of it by people who do know their value C) So they might be able to get some extra games

I realize it's not quite a deal, it's just a friendly warning to people who are likely to actually be subject to it. STFU is really just you being a donkey.

Is it better than Episode 1? Episode 1 was good, but not deserving of it's 88% gamerankings average. When a game like Ep. 1 has so many pitch dark sections and alex relies on your flashlight to see the enemies to shoot, making the flashlight have limited juice is pretty dumb. At least tell me there's fewer annoying shoot a car on top of an antlion hole section.

Yes. Episode 1 was weak, but Episode 2 is the best the entire HL series has to offer, and I mean that absolutely seriously. If you don't own it yet, buy it. Now.
I hated the " kill the striders " part .

Well, Episode 1 is generally regarded as the least impressive of the three HL2 games. The more important issue is how you've managed to go for so long without having gotten The Orange Box. With the amount of hype it's gotten over the years, as well as being on sale for as low as $7.50, I'm honestly surprised there's anybody left who hasn't played them yet, aside from those who were never even remotely interested in the first place.

I could've sworn they started including it with computers these days. Did you check your "Games" folder? It might be right between Solitaire and Minesweeper! O_O

Well I have no use for TF2, Steam gave me Portal, I was gifted Ep. 1, almost gifted regular half-life 2 so you can see why I didn't buy the orange pack. All I really need is ep 2 and half-life 2. They usually go on sale for $1.99-$2.99 each.

They were cheaper than that last December, I think. I gifted those episodes to a friend of mine back then.
