All known free steam games including HL2DM are kept track of in a sticky on the main steam forum: Free Steam games list
Dang. I'm reinstalling TF2 - I had no idea that owning that game gave me access to all these incredible games built on the Source engine - and they're free o.O

...why are they free? That doesn't make sense! Not that I'm complaining...
A lot of those free games for Valve game owners are MMO ONLY and nobody is playing any of them.

Can anyone list me Source freebees that are not dependent on others players?
STEAM

ProtoGalaxy $4.99 USD

It's just updated itself in my library so I'm hoping they've added new content.

Either way - I highly recommend.

Half Life Episode 2 is now up there for $2 as well.

Kabuto: If you're referring to Half-LIfe 2 Deathmatch and Lost coast as extras not mentioned, those are free to all steam users.
avatar
Foxhack: Lost Coast is free. But HL2 Deathmatch isn't. That costs $5.

A friend of mine bought the game during the Steam sale. :p
if you have a ati or nvidia graphics card you can unlock it for free
oh someone put up the link already

Gods VS Humans half off

I've been very curious about this game.

Don't! Most meh game I ever played. Not bad, mind you, just bland, uninspiring and boring. I was like wow, Torchlight in space, how cool is that, then I got a below average shooter, with bad story, unusable camera angles, practically no loot/skill progression/new weapons-items/upgrade choices. It's bad as a Diablo clone, and very mediocre in sci-fi settings.

Kabuto: It must really sucksomeone is stuck with an integrated intel card or something.
S3 videocards rule though. :D
Not sure how many people might be interested but I found a good deal on Dead Space 2 for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PS3.

£23.86 for the Xbox

£25.85 for the PS3

£16.85 for the PC

http://www.shopto.net/SEARCH/HTML/

I know the place ships to the UK, but I'm unaware of what other countries they may ship to.

Also, I don't think it's a special offer. I just thought I'd point it out because the game's been out for around a month and that's how much the game's being sold for.

(Is there any particular reason for this? Surprised really and I'd like to buy it eventually.)

I must second this - that's why I asked. I adore all action-RPG's and I really enjoyed Dungeon Siege, but this isn't even in the same class. Space Hack is a better space-themed action-RPG, and that's a sad statement in and of itself.

Think I'll put this on my watchlist, kind of reminds me of Swords and Soldiers, although I haven't put much time into that one yet xD

Wouldn't get a game like this for 9.99 I think though.
Re: Gods vs Humans, it's also sold on GamersGate so I'll wait for a sale on there:

http://www.gamersgate.com/DD-GVSH/gods-vs-humans (also note the review they have)

And just in case, I'll mention the Total War Shogun 2 deal as I could swear it's changed since I pre-ordered. Right now you get 30% cashback (that's about $15 or £8.75) and you get Rome Total War Gold Edition too. I'm sure when I pre-ordered it was only the 30% cashback, but Rome Total War Gold Edition has also been added to my account, so I guess it was applied retroactively.

Certainly seems like the best place to get it for the moment. Blue coins + Rome Total War vs absolutely nothing on Steam. Kind of odd that last one. For a steamworks game you'd usually expect some kind of Steam-limited edition or something.

Onlive (the gaming cloud streaming store) has another weekly? sale available.

Thursday - 50% off - Mafia II ($14.99)
Friday - 50% off - NBA 2K11 ($9.99)
Saturday - 50% off - Borderlands GOTY ($14.99)
Sunday - 75% off - NBA 2K10/MLB 2K10 ($4.99/$4.99)

From now until Sunday, save big every day.
Get 50-75% OFF* on great 2K titles all weekend long!

*ALL SALES ARE FINAL. NO REFUNDS. NO RETROACTIVE DISCOUNTS. Full PlayPass title(s) from Take Two will be discounted each day from February 24, 2011 (12:00 AM PST) to February 27, 2011 (11:59 PM PST). Each day’s discount valid until 11:59 PM PST. Terms and available titles are subject to change without notice. Only valid within the contiguous United States while connected to the OnLive Game Service. Game purchases are not transferable. No cash value.
Onlive's prices are pretty high for a service that don't even sell you a downloadable product. If you spend $30 on a game and then they remove it after their contract with a company expires, you're screwed.

Another thought, which probably won't happen, is if it gets really popular publishers could decide to use Onlive as the only outlet to publish games. It's the only DRM that could kill piracy.
